When my wife and I were dating, I gifted her this perfume. I spotted it in a small shop with just one sealed bottle and a sample. The saleswoman handed me a tester, and I was instantly captivated by that feminine scent; I didn’t hesitate for a second and bought it. She loved it, and to this day, she still has a little bit left because she only wears it for special daytime occasions. It’s an exquisite fragrance: the floral notes are soft but not light, fresh yet not simple. It’s unique, and it looks spectacular on my wife.

A friend invited me to try it and gifted me a vial so I could get to know it for a few days. Normally, I don’t form an opinion after the first sniff, but the Hermès seal guarantees quality, so I don’t think my perception will change. The first thing you notice is a citrus aroma with green notes, similar to Jour d’Hermès. Then the citrus fades, giving way to three white flowers: gardenias, neroli, and jasmine. The first two hours are a balanced trilogy where none stands out. The rose notes from the pyramid are present, but not as much as the whites. Afterward, the gardenias become the absolute stars, hence the name; they are, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful gardenias in perfumery. I can imagine a bride wearing this striking scent. It’s another hit from Hermès: it’s very “natural,” as if you’re smelling live flowers in a hanging garden. The first two hours are noticeable, followed by a moderate to low trail. Lasts about 8 hours on skin, which is discreet. It’s rare to find so little written about this beautiful bottle! That speaks to how distinguished it is—it’s not just another one of the bunch, but a great choice.

I didn’t want to rush into reviewing this beauty, but I have to. It starts with a citrus note that provides a sharpness, but nothing intense or aggressive. On the contrary, it smells like wet earth and freshly cut grass, soon disappearing to give way to white flowers. For a good while, I perceive the gardenia, lovely and soft, making everything much creamier. The sweetness comes in with the neroli and lingers, taking over completely. It’s followed by a bed of super creamy white flowers, almost milky—I can’t explain it better. It’s sweet, but not cloying, just lovely. In the base, the rose appears occasionally, adding a fresh and green touch. Honestly, I wouldn’t have called this fragrance “Gardenia,” but I understand why they did. It’s a lovely, fresh, and creamy representation of it. Very good longevity and sillage. Little projection on me, but I love that. You have to get close to discover its beauty.
