What a thrill it is to be surprised by something, but when it captures and enchants you, there are no words to thank it for that pleasure. Today I’m talking about Josune: it’s a smile, the heartbeat, the sun, the flowers, the thrill of feeling, the joy of song, the hope of dawn, and the spell of the stars; in short, Josune is LOVE. This olfactory poem begins with a sparkling, fleeting bergamot that gives way to a soft rose and a dominant jasmine. After two minutes, a earthy and sweet patchouli, a creamy and sumptuous iris, and a clean musk enter the scene, leading to the true protagonist: praline. It’s precise and clear, with toasted hazelnuts and caramelized sugar at the perfect point; it reigns throughout like a king, balanced and supported by the iris and musk. At the 20-minute mark, vanilla arrives gently, embracing everything without imposing itself, guarding every note. By the hour, praline still rules, but the jasmine jumps in to dance with it, and both notes coexist excellently, standing out on my skin alongside the musk, iris, and vanilla. Josune is more than a perfume: it touches the soul, moves you, and makes you happy. A dazzling tribute to love, where Daniel Josier immortalizes his muse. I didn’t have high expectations, and that’s what I love most: it surprised and captivated me. While some compare it to La Vie Est Belle, for me they are distant relatives; Josune doesn’t have pear notes, but if LVEB is famous for its trail, get ready to be seduced by the power of Josune. Like Dalí with Gala or Rivera with Frida, Daniel Josier pays a worthy tribute to love. Bravo and thank you for making my soul vibrate.
It was a blind buy and I’m so happy I made it. The packaging and bottle are gorgeous, and the perfume is enchanting. From the very first moment, I was conquered by the blend of fresh roses with jasmine, pure and warm musk that makes me feel loved; I’ve never felt this with another perfume. After a few minutes, the iris stands out, romantic, velvety, and delicately sweetened with an addictive praline, allowing the vanilla to just barely peek through. The trail is moderate but enveloping, and the longevity is acceptable, though I wish it were longer-lasting because of the sense of well-being it gives me. It’s a scent different from my usual line, but precisely because of that and the perfect combination of notes, I keep coming back to smell my arms over and over. It’s not challenging; it’s completely romantic and feminine, and I would definitely buy it again. I recommend it 100%.

Josune finally landed in my hands back in September, driven by pure excitement and glowing reviews. I opened the box ready to cry from the moment I smelled it, but the magic fizzled out after just two sprays. Unfortunately, Josune did what I hate the most: it left me cold. I’m not disgusted by it, but I don’t love it either. The remaining 99 ml won’t be my daily wear, I’m afraid. I’ll have to either find a replacement or sell it because it’s a shame to let a fragrance like this go to waste and sit dead in the closet.
