It seems to be the current version of the discontinued Neroli Jasmin. The Body Shop appears to have refreshed the branding to include it in the ‘Scents of the World’ collection. It hurt to know they were changing my favorite perfume, but I’m happy to be able to swap it for Indian Night Jasmine. It’s hard for me to distinguish differences; they’re very similar. If anything, the original is a bit greener and fresher, while this one is sweeter. My opinion is the same as the previous one: it’s a feminine fragrance with big-time jasmine and orange blossom, a touch of amber and sandalwood; a lovely oriental floral that doesn’t overwhelm. I recommend it to lovers of white flowers. The price is very accessible. I have it in oil form, with moderate projection and great longevity.
I think this is the reformulation of the discontinued Neroli Jasmin. The Body Shop seems to have changed the branding to integrate it into the ‘Scents of the World’ line. It saddened me to know they were changing my favorite, but I’m glad I can replace it with Indian Night Jasmine. I’m struggling to find significant differences; they’re very similar. The bottle is gorgeous—a heavy, faceted glass dome. Right out of the bottle, it smells like alcohol, typical for an EDT. I’ve been wearing it for two days, and the flowers are still a mystery; I barely catch them for fleeting moments, just sweet echoes escaping. I’m worried I might have anosmia because I’ve applied it a lot and I’m consternated. It’s frustrating not to feel that real Indian Night Jasmine. On my skin, soft and sweet sandalwood dominates, giving everything a caramelized vibe that isn’t my usual style, but since it’s just a little caramel note and not the whole package, it works for me. It has that oriental floral touch I like, so I keep spraying to see if it amplifies, but nothing; it hides. It’s sensual and warm but doesn’t last; it’s an unfulfilled promise. The Body Shop says it’ll leave you wanting more, and they’re right: no matter how much I wear it, I always want more. I’ll use it up quickly, but I won’t be buying it again. It might be a hit for someone seeking a soft oriental, but check how long it lasts on your skin.
@LaDameDeNoir You’re right, it’s weak. I also bought The Body Shop’s Atlas Mountain Rose at the same time and found it more long-lasting. I’ll try it again soon to compare; I think I left mine at my dad’s house when I traveled. Maybe I didn’t notice its longevity because I felt it was more refreshing and it didn’t set high expectations. Indian Night Jasmine leaves no trace on my skin after two hours—nothing! I bought it along with the Pink Grapefruit one and a body cream, also from The Body Shop, in a bundle on ebay.uk at a good price since I was in Edinburgh and there are more items there, so it was a lower-risk gamble. I remember that about 25 years ago, a close friend used The Body Shop’s White Musk oil and created an aura around her. It became her signature scent. You could smell it when talking to her, and after spending many hours together, she didn’t even need to reapply.
I like it and it feels amazing on the skin. This jasmine is nothing citrusy or loud; it’s very refined and totally floral. If you don’t care for citrus scents but love clean, fresh aromas, give this a try.
Initially, I loved that soft jasmine and orange blossom opening with a touch of clementine; it smelled great despite the weak sillage. It lasted about 6 hours, but halfway through, it turned into that cheap, well-known brand of shaving foam. Aghhh, I didn’t like it. Definitely not for me.
