A very green and fruity opening, very very pleasant, then the heart smells like insecticide, or at least that’s how I perceive it, and the drydown leaves a clean and soft musk. An original and cool perfume.
What a gem, my God! It’s a true marvel: an Aventus that’s greener, woodier, muskier, and earthier; of course, more mature and infinitely more masculine. And not to mention the unbeatable value for money. It’s a perfume of extraordinary quality at a ridiculously low price. It doesn’t feel synthetic at all: the green notes feel very natural. I wouldn’t blindly recommend it for very young men, but if you’re over 40 and you like masculine, classic aromas with that barbershop vibe, this will blow your mind. So far, my favorite from the brand was the Eau de Parfum Barbería by Álvarez Gómez, but this Álvarez Gómez Golf has surpassed it. The 30 ml travel sprays cost $2.99. So, if you don’t want to blind-buy the big 150 ml bottle, which is around $15, for less than $3 you can try the 30 ml one. You won’t regret it.
The truth is that the similarity to Aventus lasts 10 seconds, then it becomes a much earthier smell and the moss and ambroxan stand out. At first, since you expect an Aventus clone, you’re disappointed until you use it a couple of times and get the hang of it, then you discover a very good perfume with its own character.
It’s a perfume very much in the line of Creed Aventus, but in Álvarez Gómez mode, with the moss a bit more pronounced. It’s like a vibrant leather, more intense and greener, with similar quality. It’s an aroma that appeals to a lot of people, and it will definitely bring you positive comments. In terms of longevity, I see it a bit better than the VL, about 6 hours very decently, and even more on clothes. Very nice surprise, even though there are perfumes in this line a dime a dozen, I liked the interpretation by this Spanish house. $20 for the set of 150 ml + 30 ml, I think it’s a mistake not to have it.
