I’m surprised they don’t mention cinnamon, because what I perceive is a very sharp and rough cinnamon. Sometimes the scent is smooth and sleek, when the resines blend into something like tire rubber, though I think that facet is deeper down. It also has a touch of milk infused with orange peel, but don’t expect much edibility; this is more spicy than gourmand, more powdery than juicy. It’s friendly and cordial, but not at all extroverted. If it’s pastry, it’s pastry that doesn’t abuse the sugar.

Empire des Indes: Opening, an intense note of talc (unlisted) bathed in Nag Champa greets you (its scent is identical to the classic Nag Champa incense sticks, whose blue, gray, and black boxes can be found at any Natura store). In the heart, the Nag Champa mellows a bit and the talc gains strength as the resines appear; here the fragrance becomes sweeter as it dries. Curiously, it is in this final phase, not at the beginning, where the ginger makes its presence known (in my case), mixing with the heliotrope and the rest. The combination of talc and Nag Champa is omnipresent, plus you can detect vanilla and almond (unlisted). Projection and longevity: Around 4-5 hours, and close to the skin it lasts without issues for over 8 hours. Conclusion: Another success from Oriza L. Legrand; its mix of talc and Nag Champa, though sweet (almost gourmand), is not invasive or dizzying, but an aroma that invites you to bring your nose close again and again. As expected, it has that vintage touch that defines the brand, a unique and very special fragrance.

Luxurious and refined perfume, smells like money and nothing common, just as its price suggests. I have a decant and know it will be mine soon. It’s a powerful, powdery, sweet, and enigmatic blend, intoxicating and, above all, something you won’t find in the masses. The bottle and presentation are a 10/10, representing classic perfumery at its finest. I’d describe Empire des Indes as a special perfume; based on the listed notes, you might think it’s extremely strong, but the interesting part is that it’s not, yet it projects incredibly. It’s bottled class.
An opulent and refined perfume, smells like money… nothing common, its price proves it. I have a decant and know it will be mine soon. It’s a powerful, powdery, enigmatically sweet, intoxicating blend, and above all, something you won’t smell in the masses. The bottle and presentation are a 10/10, representing classic perfumery at its peak. I can describe Empire des Indes as a special perfume; based on the listed notes, you might think it’s extremely strong, but the interesting part is exactly that, it’s not, yet it projects a lot. It’s bottled class.
