Relique d’Amour is mystical, complex, with a strange elegance. It’s a marvel by Oriza L. Legrand. With this perfume, you get teleported to another place and time: perhaps an ancient small Roman church, with one foot in an artist’s workshop and the other inside the church. It smells like linseed oil, incense, myrrh, flowers, woods, and fresh moss. The result is sublime, even divine.
I use it after showering and it works great for hot climates. It gives me the sensation of being in a cold church, surrounded by marble and stone walls. It smells exactly like when you wet a church stone, that scent emitted by damp marble elements. A wonder, for sure.
I use it after a shower; it works great for hot climates. It gives me the sensation of being in a cold church, surrounded by marble and stone walls. It smells exactly like when you wet a church stone, that smell emitted by the marble elements when they are damp. A wonder, without a doubt.
For me, this is more than a perfume; it’s a masterful sensory experience. It’s the feeling of being in a crypt, a closed cult place for a long time until you enter. It smells of marble and stone impregnated by years of liturgies, incense, dampness, and wilted flowers. As an olfactory recreation, it’s a masterpiece and a delight to surrender to the creator’s creativity and the sensations it evokes. But as a skin scent, honestly, I don’t find any charm in it.
For me, this is more than a perfume; it’s a masterful sensory experience. It’s the sensation of being in a crypt, in a closed-off cult place that has been sealed for a long time and is now inside it. The smell of marble and stone impregnated by years of liturgies, incense, dampness, and wilted flowers. As an olfactory recreation, it’s a masterpiece, a delight to let yourself go before the creator’s creativity and the sensations it evokes. But as a perfume for the skin, honestly, I don’t find the charm.
This review is for ‘Prayer’, the limited edition of Relique D’Amour. A great shop, Equation Natural, with top-notch customer service, gifted me this among other things. Today is a fresh spring afternoon, I decided not to study, I’m on the couch with the living room window wide open, I put exactly 2 drops of this potion and… I traveled north, to some lost Galician village, very lush and green, rural shepherd paths, down to a stream that leads to a small waterfall. Behind it, almost on the rocks, an abandoned marble chapel, decorated with moss and wild nature. There’s a constant breeze, fresh and vibrant. In front of the chapel, a baptismal font filled with water accumulated by the dampness; I dipped my fingers, made the sign of the cross, and suddenly opened my eyes: I was back on my couch, window open, with neighbors clapping at 8 PM and people euphoric with car horns… I want to go back there. Brutal experience. I thought nothing was fresher than Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte… It’s ecstatic, more of a spiritual retreat than a church. I don’t want to smell like this, but this is a masterpiece. 10 out of 10.
I also got a sample of Prayer, the special edition of Relique D’Amour by Oriza L. Legrand, through Equation Natural. I’ve tried it twice and it’s one of the most balanced and beautiful cypress scents I’ve ever smelled. It’s a fascinating experience: fantastic and evocative. Imagine a walk through the Pyrenees entering a Romanesque hermitage; that’s exactly what it is. Green notes, fallen conifer needles, a very subtle incense, stone, and dampness. Hard to explain but easy to feel, it transports you there. Unfortunately, the trail becomes very intimate after the first hour, maybe it causes fatigue, and the longevity on my skin wasn’t high, around 5-6 hours. Still, I hesitate to buy a 5ml decant because I think it’s perfect for spring and autumn, maybe summer, ideal for sunrise walks in idyllic landscapes… With more heat, it might open up and project more. Scent 9/10, Longevity 6.5/10, Sillage 6.5/10, Value 6.5/10, Versatility 4/10, Packaging 7.5/10. Would I buy it again? No, I didn’t.

Smells very natural, but I don’t detect the marble church, the green landscapes, or the crypts. To me, it smells very similar to celery water.
I’m blown away by the colors. It doesn’t smell like ecclesiastical incense; it literally smells like the interior of a complete church: incense, stone, water lilies, and it even conveys the cold and dampness inside. Incredible, a scent recreated perfectly, a work of art.
Very elegant, delicate yet with character. Flowers, talcum powder, a gentle green, and on the other hand, pepper, oak, and incense. You feel both subtlety and character at the same time. It sparks my imagination: a 30-year-old woman with personality, humor, laughter, and a spark. I don’t smell the church (many people do with incense), perhaps because I don’t go there. Instead, I sense a scent full of contrasts, crafted with mastery and class.
A very elegant, delicate yet characterful perfume. On one hand, flowers, talc, a gentle green; on the other, pepper, oak, and incense. You perceive both its subtlety and its character at once. It takes my imagination away, and I see a 30-year-old woman with personality, humor, and a big laugh, someone interesting. I don’t perceive the church (this happens to many people with incense), perhaps because I don’t go there and don’t have it as a reference. Rather, I smell a scent full of contrasts, masterfully formulated and very classy.
Relique D’Amour: Green, herbaceous, and woody opening (5-10 mins). Then the moss fades, leaving wood with incense, talcum powder, and lily of the valley. In the end, those three ingredients dominate with a woody base. The pepper is barely noticeable; it’s unisex with a feminine leaning, mature, and very pleasant. Interestingly, it gains strength as it dries down instead of fading. Low projection, requires close contact, but lasts over 6 hours. As always with Oriza L. Legrand, it recreates the interior of a church with realism: a wooden altarpiece with incense and damp walls adorned with flowers. A precious memory in a bottle.
Beautiful, it met all my expectations. It smells like a forest nymph in love with a melancholic touch. The opening is extremely green, smelling most of the mossy old church it was inspired by; afterwards, it smells a bit more floral and vintage, like all the Oriza scents that smell like a Belle Époque prostitute, but the moss and the forest remain perceptible even as hours pass. If this perfume were a song, it would be Gone With the Sin by HIM; I think it’s perfectly gothic. 🖤
I absolutely love them. They met my expectations 100%. Smells like a forest nymph with a melancholic touch. The opening is super green, like an old, mossy church, then shifts to something floral and vintage, typical of Oriza L. Legrand, but the forest vibe is present throughout. If it were a song, it would be ‘Gone With the Sin’ by HIM; it’s perfectly gothic. 🖤
