Wow: this perfume transports you to the dressing table of a bygone era, a coquettish and elegant lady. Violet, iris, roses… it smells powdery and sweet, like luxury makeup. I love it, I regret swapping the sample so quickly. I’ll be buying it again.
Jardins D’Armide: Starts with a dusty lily root and a touch of rose (no neroli). Then everything blooms: iris, violet, and carnation (forget the wisteria). In the dry down, it’s musk and tonka bean (no almond or honey). Projects 5 hours from a distance and lasts over 7 hours on the skin. It’s super clean at first, then floral and powdery, reminiscent of Johnson’s Baby oil but much prettier. Perfect for fall and spring; in winter it loses projection, and in summer it can be too much.
