  One of the richest and cleanest violets I’ve tried. The style, with its balsamic and woody charge, reminds me a lot of Vjola by Nishane, but it’s lighter, with fresher and aquatic nuances, and less vanilla. I think it’s ideal for daytime wear almost year-round. A gem for violet lovers. Scent: 10, Longevity: 7, Sillage: 5, Versatility: 9, Originality: 8, Overall: 9.5.

  Violettes du Czar: Starts with a fresh, potent floral violet that greets you immediately. Then the scent settles, revealing iris and heliotrope, which become a bit powdery. At the end, the guaiac wood and amber are barely noticeable, but the violet remains the absolute star (I don’t detect tolu balsam or leather). It doesn’t project much (about 1-2 hours close to the skin), but lasts 6-7 hours on the skin depending on the time of day. In short, Oriza L. Legrand brings us another olfactory memory: a very realistic walk through a violet garden. It’s a linear fragrance with little evolution but a welcome one—a clean, powdery violet, typical of the brand.
