The only Apex that makes sense is the one by ‘Respawn Entertainment’, not ‘Roja’. I knew from the announcement it would be a simple perfume with heavy marketing (black cap and brochure with wild animals), a play to attract new customers with a less prohibitive price, similar to what the mediocre Elysium tried. It’s a chypre: lots of oakmoss and patchouli in the base. Resinous, with elemi and cypress greenery standing out, a touch of leather, citrus opening, and floral and juniper berry nuances. As it dries, it becomes slightly sweet. It’s complex, with a retro cut, linear, and modest performance. Unisex-masculine, with a mature air. It leaves behind the youthful to head to mature territory without falling into boredom like Diaghilev. It has versatility, but I find it terribly boring, with nothing new. An offering with no reason to exist. It might surprise a novice, but an expert in niche and Roja will set it aside to spend that money on another perfume. For a bit more, Danger is a gem; I prefer Reckless without so much complexity, or A Midsummer Dream, Enigma Parfum Cologne for less money. No thanks.
Honestly, disappointed with this Apex. It seems Mr. Dove and his team have run out of ideas; in recent years they’ve launched three nearly identical perfumes with minor tweaks. First A Midsummer Dream, then Burlington 1819, and now Apex. Even though Roja Parfums is my favorite brand, with Apex it feels like they just want to fill the market. The opening is the same as AMD and B1819: a bitter citrus, but then the quality of the other two disappears, revealing a synthetic, unnatural, and very artificial vibe. It’s green, but not really green; it’s aromatic, but not truly so. It’s one of the few perfumes I’ve had to rub on my skin because I simply didn’t like it. Luckily, I only had two samples to confirm it doesn’t deserve a spot in Roja’s catalog.
The comment by Dr. is very cool. It’s true, Apex is a blast.
Roja Dove is already ashes of himself. Maybe it’s cool to list four hundred disparate notes that blow your mind just reading them, only to end up creating something that basically smells like wood, oakmoss, resins, and a touch of citrus at the beginning. It’s not like anyone is going to invent penicillin, because it’s already been invented, but for a house with those prices and quality to release something so flat and seen a thousand times before is worth taking a second look. I can’t talk about performance because I don’t have it or haven’t worn it, my experience is limited, so I’ll stick to the aroma. Now, all that’s missing is that it also performs poorly. Then we’d have the perfect combo. The important thing is that it doesn’t risk anything, it doesn’t try anything, it stays in no-man’s-land trying to please everyone, and in the end, truly happy, it won’t leave anyone behind. The risky part isn’t the perfume, but the contradictory idea of adding something new without daring to innovate in the slightest. That’s nothing. As if there aren’t a hundred better and cheaper options. In the end, it’s just another shot that, by being too cautious, ends up failing. And also the latest launch from a great perfumer, but also a great narcissist who’s probably had enough of his ego. Enough said.
Here’s some advice: when you want to buy a perfume and are looking for reviews, don’t get too carried away by the comments. There’s a lot of people nitpicking everything they don’t like. If you’re interested in a fragrance, smell it in a store or ask for a decant. There’s a lot of people here who always find fault with everything, and that’s the same with this one. I’m giving you my honest opinion: this fragrance is incredible, I fell in love at first sniff. It’s super strong for going out at night to ‘hang out’, and has great longevity. No, it doesn’t resemble Savage Dior, whoever said that must be sick. Keep in mind that everyone has their own taste; this one is dark and greenish, I recommend trying it first. The only negative is the price, but it’s worth every penny. I’m not saying this just about this perfume, but in general: perfumery is very subjective, what you don’t like could be the best for someone else.
Without grand pretensions or snobbish rancor, or pretending to be an ‘expert’. Simply and plainly, I love it. It’s a spectacular scent that will make a difference wherever you go. For me, perfumes are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ based on their aromatic construction and ingredient quality. I never relate price to the ‘analysis’ of a perfume, as price depends more on the brand than the scent. Try it yourself and don’t let yourself be influenced by the experts on this forum. It’s filled with them, and that usually backfires.
No big pretensions or old-school snobbery, no pretending to be an ‘expert’. Simply put, I love it. It’s a spectacular scent that will make a difference wherever you go. For me, perfumes are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ based on their construction and ingredient quality, not on the price, which usually depends on the brand. Try it for yourselves and don’t let the experts on this forum sway you, as that can sometimes be counterproductive.
Does it smell good? Yes. Is it innovative? No. Does it last? Total crap. Is it worth the price? Not even joking.
What perfume is this by Roja? Distinctive, elegant, and classy. It’s my favorite from Roja, but watch out: it’s a scent for those over 30, I don’t see kids wearing it. Plus, it has the advantage of being one of the most affordable options from the brand. You have to try it.
What a perfume this Apex by Roja is! Distinctive, elegant, exuding class. It’s my favorite of Roja, but watch out, it’s a mature scent +30, I don’t see kids wearing it. Also, it has the advantage of being one of the most affordable in euros of the brand. You have to try it.
I get what people are saying, but I wonder if they’re focusing on the scent or just their mood, or if they’re just blind followers. This is the case with Apex: it belongs to that group of ‘cursed’ fragrances that deserve a fair shot. Give it a try, it’s worth it. It’s an exquisite proposal, performs well, and projects for 8 hours. No woman who knows it says it’s not pleasant, rich, clean, and masculine. Perfect for any occasion and available at designer prices. Definitely recommended.
I don’t know how it is for others, but for me it lasted quite a bit, but I couldn’t get the ‘aventus’ smell out of my head. For the price it has, I can’t find arguments to spend that money here. It smells very good, but there are so many already similar ones.
I don’t know what else to add. It lasted a good while, but the ‘Aventus’ smell wouldn’t leave my head. At this price, I don’t see the point of buying it when it smells good but there are so many similar options out there.
Not a trace of Aventus, zero resemblance.
It’s a total 4×4: a green, aromatic, and woody scent that brings a lot of freshness. It might not be for every purist, but it’s easy to wear and lasts quite a while. I’m giving it 9/10 because I know some won’t like it, but in my opinion, it’s a hit.
A total 4×4, excellent scent totally tied to the green aspect. Aromatic, woody, and fresh. It might be different for those who don’t step out of their comfort zone, but in my opinion, it’s easy to wear and quite long-lasting. I’d give it a 9/10 just because I understand there may be people who don’t love it entirely.
