By god, what a piece of perfume. I didn’t think it would be the best Elysium Roja inspiration. Beautiful fragrance with an almost perfect dry-down, an inexplicable aromatic citrus that few people talk about.

The presentation is flawless. I bought it thinking it would be a dupe for the Elysium Cologne, but I found absolutely no resemblance; they say it’s more like the Parfum, which I haven’t tried—anyone confirm? Overall, I liked it, even though it wasn’t what I expected. For the price, it’s great, and it lasts longer than an original Roja.
Clarification: this is the Parfum, not the Cologne. The Parfum is woodier and aromatic, with vetiver and green accords, much more elegant. The original Roja Parfum is my favorite, but it comes in 50ml and is expensive even among niche brands. This FW option is a gem for the price, offering quality above average Arab perfumes and on par with designer scents. Excellent as a signature scent, universally wearable. Masculine, zero caramel or chocolate notes. It’s a modern Chypre-Fruity. The best from FW for men. Longevity is relative; I’d say medium, averaging 6-7 hours (almost like the $300 Roja), so you might get lucky or not.
Asylum arrived yesterday, what a pleasant surprise—brutal quality for the price (35 euros on AliExpress via Miravia). I had the Elysium Parfum a year ago and sold it due to its poor longevity, which is the same as this Asylum, but here you can get 14 sprays lasting 5-6 hours close to the skin with a moderate trail of 2-3 hours. It’s my first clone, and although I’m not a fan of this perfumerie or designer scents, I like this one and will use it a lot this summer. If the longevity improves as they say, I’ll let you know.
Excellent perfume, don’t be shy with the sprays—the scent isn’t overwhelming. With 12 sprays, it lasts a solid 6 hours; it’s not the best performance, but for this fresh, green citrus, it’s perfect. The citrus opening is unique, smelling natural like green citrus peels. It evolves quickly into fresh woods and freshly cut grass. In the dry down, I detect cedar, vetiver, and a hint of pepper. Finally, the woods blend with vanilla, creating a very personal sillage. I love it; there’s no other citrus like this in this price range. The green notes are energetic and cheerful—I was asked four times what I was wearing (two girls I didn’t know). That was with 4-6 sprays, my normal dose.
