Same as I said about its predecessor: ‘A fragrance sold as unisex that I feel is truly unisex.’ This flanker is much more refined and swayed me slightly in its favor. It has better longevity and a more interesting evolution. Here, lavender takes center stage, and the base is more consistent (with that ‘famous’ oud wood that still isn’t very prominent). I believe it stands up to Cartier’s Golden Trilogy: Pasha, Santos, and Declaration, which says a lot. Just one more thing: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

A very rich fragrance, but leans more masculine than feminine, despite being labeled ‘unisex’. Classic, just like all Cartier scents.

  • I finally found this 200ml fragrance at a great price, and seeing that it lists oud, I felt compelled to buy it. Upon opening, I notice a subtle oud wrapped in lavender and violet, just as the reviews say: totally unisex and very fresh despite the oud, which is only felt in the first spray. Over time, that fresh scent settles thanks to yuzu and bergamot, and after a few hours, it seems more feminine due to the violet, though it remains unisex. To my taste, it leans a bit feminine. Highly recommended, even though it’s not talked about much.

  • Cartier Essence de Bois Eau de Parfum (2012). A beautiful fragrance. I have the large bottle, I think 200ml, and only the 5ml collector’s edition remains, but I’ll keep those extra 195ml in memory, full of good relaxation memories. It’s nothing intrusive, with a high-quality amber note and very well-cared-for agarwood (oud) accents. I love it for when I don’t want to draw attention but still want to feel like I’m wearing perfume.

  • Another flanker that delivers on its promise. The DNA is evident, featuring a gentle oud subtly sweetened by lavender. It’s neither fully masculine nor feminine; it’s a unisex scent with a slight masculine wood note. An excellent fragrance for my nose.
