Citrus-animalic, Mona aims to evoke her passion for the Mediterranean. The opening with tangerine, bergamot, and petit grain doesn’t smell fresh; instead, pink pepper makes it floral and earthy thanks to geranium, vetiver, and bay leaf. The entire journey is a palpable warmth, like a sea breeze at sunset. In the dry down, the scent leans into chiaroscuro with labdanum, soapy musk, and a touch of honey that explains the animalic side. It’s interesting and good quality, but a restricted aroma, not for everyone. Rating: 6.5
