I think the previous reviewer got it wrong, because the notes are correct and it doesn’t smell like citrus or patchouli as he claims. It’s floral and fruity, but with truffle and oud that give it a dark tone. It’s not sweet fruit for young people; the oud isn’t just noticeable, it adds body and balances the florals to make it more masculine. It smells very powdery, not like iris, but like an undisclosed musk, though there’s a lot of it. It’s original, unique, and distinct. It’s versatile because it’s pleasant without being overpowering, so it works well for work. It’s not for standing out in clubs or for young people. Totally unisex, maybe the most I know. Projects well but subtly, lasts until the end of the day even close to the skin. The price is high, but it’s different and high quality.
The Fragrantica notes are terrible. Anyone with a sense of smell can tell. The opening smells like the name, like earth, but then it fades and the real notes remain: citrus (bergamot, lemon, bitter orange) with cedar and herbal patchouli (geraniol, citronellol, linalool, terpineol). There’s no pear, no truffle, or anything like that. It has a slight sweet touch when it dries down, but it’s not gourmand. A hint of synthetic violet and vanilla.
In Loewe Earth Elixir, the opening is powerful, not discreet: it hits hard, fresh and sharp, like opening a window and breathing in a wet, sweet bouquet. It reminds me of freshly cut ripe pear, with an almost gourmand brightness that clashes with the mineral base; a bold welcome. Then it relaxes: the mimosa and violet come out, sweetening without being cloying, while the oud and elemi resin add texture and warmth. The initial truffle becomes enveloping and sensual, creating a creamy, mysterious trail. On my skin, it goes from vibrant to intimate naturally. It has a beautiful duality: light and earth. It’s one of those that fills the space at first and then stays close, without losing its character.
It smells great but lasts nothing, and even less. Paying 90€ for just 50 ml hurts more than a kick in the balls, especially when after 20 minutes it’s already just skin scent.
After years, scents, and money invested, I found MY PERFUME. I won’t embellish, what I feel is simply MINE. I’ve never felt anything like it; it reminds me of home, love, comfort, warmth, shelter, sweetness, autumn. Simply wonderful. And being the first review makes it even more mine.
