Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs

You have to have patience with Daisy Dream; that’s the key phrase in my review. It needs time to macerate to unleash its full potential. I met it at a department store and, upon smelling it, I wanted it. To me, it smells luxurious, clean, and like a feminine, polished, powerful woman—that power of self-care and delicacy. I bought it in 2020. The first time I applied it, I was disappointed because it smelled only of alcohol and didn’t last at all, but since I already had it, I used it occasionally until years passed and the magic of maceration took over on its own. It no longer smells like alcohol; its strength, sillage, and longevity increased so much that sometimes I got tired of carrying it. My peak moment was a few months ago at my parents’ house; my brother walked all over the house and told me, ‘I can smell your perfume from over there.’ Wow! If you like it, I recommend patience and seeing it in the long run. It’s feminine, fresh, delicate, slightly sweet, youthful, and spring-like, almost wearable for everyone. It could be a spring-summer staple, worth trying with patience.

On my skin, it doesn’t have the excellent longevity of the original Daisy, but it doesn’t vanish instantly either. Let’s say it lasts 4-5 hours, at least on me. The bottle is a work of art; if you have money, buy the perfume to admire the bottle, it’s worth it. But the perfume isn’t as dazzling as its bottle: it’s floral, light, and simple. During the dry-down, it reveals a blackberry note that gives it some depth. Daisy Dream is like almost all Marc Jacobs perfumes: too expensive for the quality. Yes, the bottles are beautiful, but the perfume can be found at half the price, perhaps with better longevity. What a pity that Coty’s division doesn’t invest in fragrances as special and long-lasting as Daisy (2007), but instead creates expensive, simple sequels.

Undoubtedly, a beautiful presentation with soft, sweet notes. It’s a nice, subtle, and feminine scent. If you want to smell good without being intrusive, it’s a good option. I like it for daily wear, fresh and clean. However, if you’re looking to stand out and have it noticed easily, it’s not your choice; the trail isn’t marked and the longevity is average… it depends on everyone; it lasts quite a bit for me, but generally, I’m a long-lasting person. For others, it lasts regularly. It’s worth it, smells nice, and looks pretty; I love the coconut and blackberry notes. But if you’re looking for a scent that represents you, look for other options.

Why does the bottle have to be so beautiful? That’s the only thing stopping me from using it. That blue is my favorite shade, but the scent sounds very alcoholic to me. Generally, I like the Daisy line, but I don’t perceive any notes in this one except that alcohol smell. It feels clean, but I don’t detect any notes, giving a sensation similar to a hairspray fixative, like with YSL Parisienne due to the shared notes of blackberry and musk. I don’t know if it’s because mine is an old batch and evaporated, since I see that recent ones come without flowers and my bottle still has the little flowers.

A pretty and pleasant perfume, nothing more. I’ve used it several times hoping to find something new, but nothing happened. It doesn’t disappoint, but it doesn’t excite either. It smells clean, like fresh white sheets for a good summer rest. What does it actually smell like? Primarily flowers, musk, and a juicy pear base. It lasts 4 to 5 hours, and the trail is disappointing; even with heavy application, it only smells close to the skin. It was nice to try, but I definitely wouldn’t buy it. As my first Marc Jacobs, it fell short.

It’s like a hug from a friend: it lasts relatively little, but it’s enough to comfort the soul and linger in memory. I smelled it before losing my sense of smell due to COVID, and when I recovered, it felt subtle, so I used it daily. I loved the effect on my skin, so I wore it to my spring wedding as something ‘blue,’ applying it several times. I think it’s important to wear something that makes you feel comfortable in your skin on that day, rather than going for something trendy.

Mmm, I have mixed feelings about this perfume. On its own, it’s lovely: smells like pear, wisteria, jasmine, and a touch of musk. It smells clean and fresh, but the projection is skin-scent only and it lasts very little, like two hours, sometimes four. Wait for the grapefruit or lychee notes to shine, as those are my favorites. It’s something for everyday use, ideal for throwing something on quickly before heading to the supermarket without feeling too put-together.

I want it, I could only smell the sample. It’s a delicate scent, it made me think of my clean pajamas, it’s not cotton, but it reminds you of that, comfort. It’s the perfume people say you wear at home or at the mall, super versatile for daily use, like white sneakers in 2021, goes with almost everything. You could use it like Daisy Dream, so I want it in my collection; there are few scents like that in the vibe. I already got it and yes, I confirm what I wrote.

I tried a sample and must say that Marc Jacobs perfumes don’t interest me anymore since they offered me a sample of ‘Lola’ years ago, and I smelled too much alcohol. Anyway, Daisy Dream was a pleasant surprise; it brought back memories of my childhood at an aunt’s house with a garden full of flowers. It’s floral, delicate, fresh, and feminine. I like it for personal use, but it doesn’t leave much of a trail.

A scent without a distinctive character. Lots of coconut and pear; it could be for teenagers. It has nothing to do with the original Daisy; this one doesn’t induce sleep but, due to its loud aromatic profile, is better for waking up. In this case, against the trend, the longevity and trail are a bit heavy. The beautiful part: the bottle (my grandmother would have bought it regardless of the contents!).

A good option if you like a talc-like scent in summer, since it’s very soft, which becomes a drawback in winter because it’s too subtle. I wish someone would release something similar but more intense, as it costs a fortune and you barely enjoy it. The bottle is gorgeous, and I like the wisteria note; there are few perfumes with that. It’s an innocent and tender scent, one of the ones I like.

Pretty and soft, but that’s where it stops. Not worth the price tag. I only notice light woods with a medicinal floral touch, probably due to the glycine. The trail is weak and lasts about two hours; I had to reapply constantly, and when I did, people said it smelled like roses, though I don’t detect any rose notes at all. Not a good investment.

It’s a soft, delicate, and very feminine perfume. Sweet and fresh, it smells great. I love it, but it doesn’t last at all. Years ago, I had it in a 100 ml format and had to reapply constantly. I still keep the empty bottle and sniff it; I get the urge to have it back, but I can’t agree that it has terrible longevity and projection.

I adore Marc Jacobs perfumes; I love their floral-fruit blend (Alberto Morillas is a master). Daisy Dream is pleasant, easy to wear, and lasts quite a bit on my skin. I like the coconut and blackberry, very subtle. I don’t think I’ll buy it again when I run out because I’ve found new scents that convince me more.

Personally, I find it delicious, especially the coconut and glycine; the jasmine is noted excellently. It’s delicate, very feminine, and floral, ideal for daytime. What a pity about the scarce longevity and trail, a memory of my time in Buenos Aires…
