At first, it smells like a potent, alcoholic, salty citrus—very synthetic. After a while, lavender emerges. Over time, all I notice is a citrus note (maybe lemon, not mandarin) that feels like floor cleaner with lavender. I can’t appreciate anything else. It lacks that ‘refreshing’ character for me, perhaps because the amber and lavender make it feel heavy. In the dry down, it subtly reminds me of Moschino Toy 2. Totally unisex. Lasts 4-5 hours, maybe longer than other editions. Verdict: there have been better and worse. I wouldn’t pay more than €20.

Exquisite, simply amazing. Short longevity but fresh and youthful. Citrusy. Esop.
I bought it based on reviews and thought it would be more citrusy. I don’t see it as unisex; it smells more masculine to me. My friend doesn’t like it, and neither do I on my skin’s pH. I think the previous edition was more citrusy with fewer components. Maybe it works better at night. In short, I only find it to be a thick, very sweet, and synthetic cologne. Luckily, I got it at 50% off; I doubt we’ll use it often.
I thought it would be a stronger citrus, but its development is very disappointing. It’s citrusy but synthetic, rich at first, then evolves into dish soap powder—it sits between refreshing and cleaning, and I don’t like that. Poor performance: it projects a bit for the first 10 minutes and then dies. After half an hour, it’s skin scent until it’s gone. It lasts 3-4 hours but goes unnoticed. The good news is it’s cheap to collect little summer bottles.
I bought it based on the reviews but was expecting more citrus. It doesn’t feel unisex to me; it smells more like a man’s cologne. My friend didn’t like it, and neither do I on my partner’s skin. I think the previous version was more citrusy with fewer ingredients. Maybe it would work better for night than day. In short, I just find it a heavy, overly sweet, synthetic fragrance. Luckily, I got it at 50% off because I doubt we’ll use it often.
If you’re looking for a summer take on this line, grab the 2019 or the original. This 2020 version has the worst longevity I’ve ever experienced—literally a breath. I’d call it indifferent: it stands for nothing. A letdown with zero sillage and a terrible citrus note. Neither here nor there, just nothing. Maybe a body splash would be better than this ridiculously overpriced perfume for its quality; it’s worth less than lemon soap. They probably put a cheap fragrance in a pretty bottle to lure fans, so don’t get fooled. For me, it was a gift; I never would have bought it.
Youthful and cheerful, perfect for ages 15-25. It’s decent, but it smells way better on my nose in the 2019 version.
An exquisite salty citrus, reminiscent of the sea and its peace. The sage gives it a very special touch. It doesn’t project much, but it’s excellent for hot days.
Smells amazing. What I love most is that it doesn’t feel overly synthetic like so many others. The notes are well-blended. The sea salt and orange combo is incredibly delicious. I prefer this to the 2019 version. It lasts way longer on skin and clothes, giving me a solid 8 hours. For extreme heat, it’s a fantastic option. Without a doubt, the salt note is one of my favorites.
Smells super good. What I like most is that it doesn’t feel very synthetic like many others. The notes are well-blended. You can really smell the salt and orange notes; that combination gives an amazing scent. I like it more than the 2019 version. Above all, it lasts much longer on skin and clothes. For me, it gives about 8 solid hours. For extreme heat, this is a phenomenal option. Without a doubt, the salt note is one of my favorite notes.
I loved it, a fresh marine scent mixed with citrus makes it perfect for everyday wear; it even got me compliments at work, I love it!!!!!!!
I’m totally blown away by this one. It’s a super fresh marine scent with citrus notes that makes it perfect for everyday wear; I’ve gotten so many compliments at work, I love it!
It reminded me of Avon Scent Fresh Citrus, very nice for sports, but it doesn’t last more than an hour (in fact, the Avon Scent lasts a bit longer). Both are linear, with that lime/lemon from start to finish, always being the protagonists. They feel very natural, but I’d downgrade them from cologne since they don’t have the performance of an EDT at its full splendor. Pleasant, but I wouldn’t buy it again. Rating: 6/10 (there are better citrus proposals in both fragrance and performance).
The Queen of Citrus, CK One Summer 2020, is an exquisite citrus fragrance, super citrusy, but very pleasant. I can’t identify every note, but in the opening it’s clear they are citrus notes; it feels fresh and spicy. As the name suggests, it’s for summer, for very hot days, sunny weekends, beach days, yacht trips—everything you can associate with summer, this fragrance has it. Suitable for a super wide age range; anyone who wants to feel fresh can wear it. The first minutes feel intense, but then it drops and lingers nicely close to the skin. Its longevity and sillage are discreet, but you can reapply it as much as you want; you won’t bother anyone. An excellent alternative at a great price. Would I buy it again? Yes, it’s the definitive citrus fragrance; if I find it again, I’ll buy it. Highly recommended.

Sometimes the passage of time makes me sad, and I feel that few things are as exciting as the first moment. Am I just a grumpy, monotonous old man? This perfume is the opposite: a spark of optimism, a beach party at sunset, lighting a flare to celebrate anything. CK Summer 2020 evokes those enjoyable vacation days, or as the saying goes, memory paints everything in the brightest colors. I love it for that constant, light marine salinity. It opens spicy with ginger, quickly blends with the citrus and sweetness of orange, and finishes with a subtle touch of amber and sandalwood—everything is pleasant and cheerful. I like it because it’s so innocent and fun; I just want relaxed summers, sea baths, sunshine, good company, and no worries at all.
Sometimes I get a bit sad about the passage of time and feel that few things are as exciting as when they are experienced for the first time. I wonder if I’m the typical grumpy old man who doesn’t know why, stuck in monotony, lamenting missed opportunities and weighed down by his own memories. This perfume is the exact opposite; it’s a spark of optimism, a beach party with the sunset on the horizon, lighting a flare to celebrate anything because everything can be a reason to celebrate. This CK Summer 2020 evokes those enjoyable vacation days, or at least the ones where memory is selective and always paints everything in the most beautiful, bright colors. I love this scent because I feel a light, constant marine salinity. It opens slightly spicy with ginger but soon blends with the citrus and sweetness of orange, finishing with very faint touches of amber and sandalwood; everything is pleasant and youthful. I really liked it for being so innocent and fun; I just want relaxed summers, enjoying baths in the sea, the sun, good company, and my only worry is trying not to worry too much about anything.
I agree with AndyLaRosa: if you have the Millanel inspiration, you don’t need the original.
I have to be honest: I own the Millanel CK One Summer 2020 dupe (KC Summer 2020), and it’s excellent. Lime, lemon, verbena, ginger… fresh and cheerful. Perfect for running in the sun, hitting the gym, and feeling like you just got out of the shower. It generates joy. I love it and wouldn’t buy the original.
CK One Summer 2020 is, without a doubt, the highlight of Calvin Klein’s summer collection and my favorite in the line. Its magic lies in that fresh, vibrant, sparkling lemon that greets you at the first spray. It’s not a sour or overly effervescent citrus; it’s a clean, luminous, almost aquatic lemon that conveys an immediate light energy. It maintains the unisex and carefree spirit of CK One but takes it to a juicier, brighter, summer realm—perfect for intense heat, the beach, the pool, or any day where you’re seeking pure freshness without complications. It’s simple, direct, and a lot of fun.
I have the 2020 version, and it’s noticeably fresher, saltier, and more citrusy than the previous ones.
