Hugo Boss has never been known for making memorable or original perfumes… almost everything they’ve released since Dark Blue has been generic, safe, and aimed at mass use, in other words, very mainstream. I suppose this is part of the Hugo Boss image, a minimalist fashion house. Boss Nuit is another of their women’s fragrances that feels more like a cologne… nice smell, but nothing interesting.
True, the advertising, the name, and the design of Boss Nuit suggest something more intense and sophisticated. And while it isn’t, or isn’t to that extent (in fact, on my skin it’s very subtle), I still think it’s elegant thanks to the aldehydes and white flowers. The peach stands out, and along with the jasmine, it adds a sweet touch. Boss Nuit is very soft, so I think it’s better suited for people who prefer scents that stay close to the skin.
The bottle suggests a dark night with an intense, lasting fragrance. Nowhere near the truth; it’s a bland perfume that lasts at most two hours on the skin. You could put any drugstore cologne in that bottle. Lately, it seems like ‘Noir’ is just a name because the new fragrances I’m using with Noir are nothing special. I also didn’t expect much from Hugo Boss, honestly 🙁
I imagined it better… I let the black bottle and the advertising lead me astray… but it’s just an ordinary perfume. It smells good, but nothing special (in my opinion). I barely felt a hint of aldehydes… white flowers, peach, and a ‘discreet’ moss… sandalwood, also barely there. I insist, it’s not maaaal… it reminds me of two or three women I’d gift it to, and they’d be delighted.
Another magazine sample; honestly, I didn’t expect much based on previous reviews and I think they’re underestimating it. It’s another generic, bland, boring perfume. It mostly smells like peach with some green white flowers; I can’t distinguish anything else. The aldehydes aren’t noticeable, and there’s a faint sandalwood in the background, but it’s almost imperceptible. It’s for very discreet, conservative women.
I tested it in the perfume store and honestly, I hated it. It smells terrible, like bug spray. It really leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve never been a fan of Hugo Boss perfumes; I think the only one that’s even remotely decent is Boss Orange, and it’s pretty average.
I’m going against the grain here: Hugo Boss Nuit is my absolute favorite (I usually hate florals). It’s true it doesn’t last long (only 4 hours on my skin), but the scent is magical. Starts with jasmine, then a minty freshness, and finishes sweet and soft. I tested it day and night; it works for everything, but it really shines in spring and summer. I feel like I’m in a garden of white flowers—spontaneous and elegant. It gives me confidence and motivation. I became addicted at first sniff. When I finish this, I’ll buy it again in 100ml. Rating: 10/10.
I tried a ton of these and this was the only one that actually caught my attention, but unfortunately I didn’t end up buying it; the one I walked away with was Femme, which just smells like water—I feel like I got scammed. Boss Nuit had that peach note that was driving me crazy, but the ‘Nuit’ part doesn’t fit because it’s way too soft; I don’t think it has any trail (though I didn’t test it on skin, so I plan to try again). Edit: It has no sillage, smells like Devil, and the peach note doesn’t even show up on my skin.
The name and bottle were misleading… Far from being a night scent, it’s quite simple. I liked the fruity opening, but after 12 hours it smells like an ‘older lady,’ which isn’t what I’m looking for when going out at night. Ideal if you want to smell good without standing out; a perfect complement to Boss Jour Pour Femme, both discreet and white floral.
I also let myself be carried away by the name and the bottle… But far from being nocturnal and intense, it’s quite simple. I liked the initial fruity phase more, then okay, but towards the end (I had it on for twelve hours) I felt it was for an older woman than me, a “lady.” This is very discordant with my current preferences, as I was looking for a special and bold aroma to go out at night… For a woman who doesn’t want to disturb or stand out but smell “good,” it seems appropriate. It’s the perfect complement to Boss Jour Pour Femme, both quite discreet, white flowers.
It’s not a “bombshell” perfume, but to me it seems a very pleasant and feminine fragrance. From my humble point of view, it falters mainly in longevity; I stop smelling it very soon. It’s one of those perfumes that smell good but lack something.
It’s not exactly a ‘bombshell’ perfume, but I think it’s a very pleasant and feminine scent. From my humble perspective, it falls short mainly in longevity; I stop smelling it very quickly. It’s one of those perfumes that smell good but just lack something.
I really like it… I love the peach scent I can smell; I don’t smell almost anything else, but I’m not bothered by feeling such a precious scent all the time. I don’t think it can draw attention or leave a trail, but I don’t mind; smelling it makes me feel very good. Would I buy it? For now, no; it’s very average and I’m looking for something well-defined, for the floral, for being super citrusy, super something, but this isn’t super. It’s rich and reminds me of an old Avon perfume called Peach or something like that.
I love the peach scent; I barely smell anything else, but I love feeling it all day long. It doesn’t draw attention or leave a trail, but it makes me feel good. Would I buy it? Not for now; it seems too plain and I’m looking for something more defined, either floral or super citrusy. It’s nice and reminds me of an old Avon perfume called Peach.
Convincing advertising, Gwyneth Paltrow as the face, Nuit: night… they sold it with so much emotion. Too bad they overdid it with such good marketing work, as I thought the fragrance would be as good as they painted it. I admit I really like the bottle, simple yet elegant… very Hugo Boss. However, the fragrance has turned out bad for several reasons: first, the scent is very average, it doesn’t impress, it’s not memorable. Exactly, as several have said, it reminds me of a catalog cologne. Of what I’ve tried from Hugo Boss so far, it’s the worst compared to the others. And even though this brand’s scents aren’t “phenomenal,” they tend to be casual. I detect a synthetic peach, something sweet, a more timid jasmine than I’d like, and some sandalwood. It’s fruity, slightly talcum-like… but it doesn’t cause any emotion in me. I saw it as promising with those notes. Aldehydes? Here, they’re not detectable at all. Another point, the quality/price ratio. If we look at what we get for what we pay, it seems unfair. Its trail is moderate; I do slightly perceive that I’m wearing it, but it doesn’t last almost anything… about two hours or so. To be honest, I didn’t like it; it left much to be desired. It lacks strength, and a lot of it. It doesn’t even feel nocturnal, as intended. A Hugo Boss that’s too simple.
Great marketing with Gwyneth Paltrow and the name ‘Nuit,’ but they overdid it. I like the bottle—simple and elegant—but the fragrance is just average; it doesn’t impress and smells like a catalog cologne. Out of all the Hugo Boss scents, this is the worst: it smells like synthetic peach, shy jasmine, and sandalwood. It’s fruity and slightly powdery, with no emotion. It promised a lot with its notes, but there are no perceptible aldehydes. The quality-to-price ratio is unfair: moderate sillage and it lasts barely two hours. I didn’t like it; it lacks strength and isn’t nocturnal. A Hugo Boss that’s too simple.
Fresh, elegant, soft, sophisticated, a tiny bit of talcum very subtly, nothing intrusive. I’d say a fresh, very fine floral; I see it for dinner, a meeting with friends, a special date, very elegant. It doesn’t matter the season, it’s timeless.
I own it and use it gladly, but it has to be admitted that it’s a completely dispensable fragrance, plus it’s not particularly affordable. Basically, it’s a soapy peach, slightly talcum-like (I imagine due to the violet) on the skin. Very timid jasmine notes are felt, and honestly… nothing else. It has very little of a night vibe; I spray this generously in the morning in full August Madrid and it’s harmless. Good for feeling clean and subtly perfumed, but without the sophistication and nocturnality that something called… nuit… should have.
My favorite of the three that came out together (Boss Nuit, Boss Jour, and Ma vie). The jasmine, violet, and especially the peach stand out from start to finish. It reminds me of Lacoste pour Femme; the difference is that here the peach shines, while there it’s the pineapple. That one is more youthful and sweet (though neither is gourmand). It had been on my wishlist for a while. At a perfumerie, they told me it was being discontinued along with Boss Jour; they had a batch for 30 euros for 75 ml, so I took both. No regrets—the scent is very pleasant and I identify with it. It’s perfect for work, an informal date, and why not, romantic use too; I see something seductive in it. It’s not overwhelming, seductive but in a discreet way.

The moment I smelled it, I knew it was for night: soft yet distinguished.
I found it elegant and rich, nothing heavy, ideal for any season. The problem is its poor projection and longevity. Due to this lack of presence, I wouldn’t buy it again.
Smells rich, fruity, and floral—cheerful yet elegant. It’s quite generic, not bad for that, but it lasts a breath; nothing left after two hours. It would be perfect with better longevity. My experience with Hugo Boss is disappointing solely for that reason.
