Ballets Rouges by Olympic Orchids Artisan Perfumes is a chypre floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2012, this composition was created by perfumer Ellen Covey. The olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of aldehydes, red thyme, bergamot, and red mandarin; a floral heart featuring rose, May rose, and ylang-ylang; and a woody, spicy base blending oakmoss, musk, patchouli, and labdanum.

Another gem from Olympic Orchids that I got to try. It’s a floral heavily focused on rose, with a chypre and aldehydic base that gives it a green, fresh touch. It’s also quite spicy with a hint of heat. There’s a certain synthetic nuance that doesn’t make me feel comfortable wearing it. Performance is excellent—it lasts forever with amazing projection in the first few hours.
