  Chevalier Vert kicks off with a green, citrus burst that smells like gasoline and workshop oil, but that mechanical note fades quickly to reveal a creamy, powdery heart where orris root and violet take the lead, with a subtle citrus hint of grapefruit and bergamot if you listen closely. The dry down leaves just that powdery base and the absence of any fruit. Performance is brutal: it projects massively at first and clings to your skin until you shower. It’s unisex in its evolution, though the super mechanical opening doesn’t work for me on a woman, but by the end, it’s very personal. I wouldn’t buy it myself, but I liked the development and it’s worth a try if you’re looking for something off the beaten path; this is definitely niche perfumery.
