  • It’s wet earth, damp walls, and more. The first 45 minutes are the best: lots of wet earth with volume that transports you into a damp cave. Then the banana emerges, rising as fruit until minute 25, mixed with earth, banana, and fig—a unique, pleasant, yet unexpected blend, as if it’s tipping off balance. Wet earth returns to dominate, losing body but not power. I expected better longevity and projection; it left me underwhelmed. I love the wet earth and the melancholic loop, but it’s too contained and not very usable. Scent: 6.8/10, Longevity: 6/10, Projection: 7/10, Emotional Impact: Yes, Originality: 8/10, Price: 65€/30ml, Recommended: Low.

  • Have you ever transplanted a plant and sunk your hands into that black, shiny, living soil? Now imagine doing it while chewing on a banana gum. That’s Night Flyer. A unique scent that deserves every letter of the word NICHES. Artistic, bold, and meant purely for personal enjoyment.

  • It smells like moldy shoes inside a box; I didn’t detect any fruit. If you’ve smelled Madame Rochas, you’ll recognize it, but with less clove and rose. It’s that stagnant dampness you don’t like. If you need to decant, this isn’t it.

  • Smells like moldy shoes in their box; I didn’t detect any fruit scent at all. If you’ve heard of Madame Rochas by Rochas, it’s similar but without as much clove and carnation. It smells of humidity, but that stagnant kind. If you need a decant, this is the case.

  • Thefirstpumpkin

It smells like rotting fruit under damp earth; an art piece that’s amazing at home but impossible for the office, though it’s addictive on the wrist. It’s virtuosic in how it brought the idea to life—the true Bat from Zoologist and a 10/10. Very similar to Figment Man and Hamndani with that dark, earthy side, except for the fruity notes.

  • Thefirstpumpkin

Smells like banana compost covered in damp earth; it’s pure art but hard to wear at the office. The scent is putrid, yet addictive for home use. It’s virtuous how it moved from imagination to composition, the namesake of the ‘Niche,’ very similar to Figment Man by Amouage and Hamndani by Marly for that dark, earthy side. A 10/10, the original Bat by Zoologist.

Seems easy but it isn’t: smells like literally chewed banana gum (like Motitas), or as I told my wife, putting a yogurt fruit ice cream into fertile soil and letting it ferment for a week with rain. That’s what Night Flyer smells like. A delight I doubt unaccustomed noses will enjoy. Excellent projection and longevity, but due to its density, I suggest wearing it in cool climates and outdoors. 9/10.

A fragrance that seems easy but isn’t… let me explain. If I told you it smells like chewed banana gum (the famous ‘motitas’ gum in Mexico)… literally chewed!… or as I told my wife… put a chasca (yogurt ice cream with natural fruits) in very fertile black earth and let the mixture ‘ferment’ for a week (preferably in a month with moderate rains)… that’s what Night Flyer smells like. An olfactory delight that I doubt will be understood/enjoyed by noses not accustomed to the artisanal aromas proposed by niche houses. Projection and longevity are very good, but due to its density and scent, I’d suggest wearing it in fresh (not cold) climates and outdoors. (9/10)

  • Magical fragrance. A great substitute for Zoologist’s Bat. It’s like putting your hands in the pot of a fruit tree after it’s been watered, and then squishing the fruits. It’s a perfume you can wear, but remember that besides fruit, you smell wet earth. You also have to treat it like a piece of art to smell it properly.

  • Magical fragrance and a great substitute for Zoologist’s Bat. It’s like sticking your hands into the pot of a freshly watered fruit tree and squishing the fruits. Yes, it’s wearable, but remember that besides fruit, it smells of wet earth. Treat it like art to smell and that’s it.

  • Bought it this summer… and I’ve been saving it for this autumn… very peculiar and definitely for personal enjoyment… but the recreation is exact to what it evokes… that damp cave with ripe fruits… if you like those very realistic notes… it’s spectacular… not very sweet but… it’s strangely pleasant, although I think I’m getting ahead of myself… it’s autumn but in my area in eastern Spain… I think the fragrance will shine more with temperatures below 22°C… I’d say it works best below 16°C. Update: I applied it last night at 9 PM to go out for dinner, and it’s 9 AM on Sunday and I’m still getting bursts… bubble and personal enjoyment… but infinite…

  • I’m slowly becoming a huge fan of petrichor or wet earth scents. This is a beauty that chemically recreates that particular aroma perfectly. I started with ‘Last Season’ by Meo Fusciuni and ‘Atardecer’ by Navitus. Now, I’ve picked up a 30ml bottle of ‘Night Flyer,’ partly for the notes and partly for the gossip surrounding the original ‘Bat.’ Honestly, I’m amazed. Wet earth, with fermented fruit/banana, and a bit of leather at the start. It’s a work of art. I assume people here are already lovers of rare perfumes, so this is an absolute yes (and even more so because of its accessible price). But if you stumbled upon this page by chance and still like perfumes that get compliments, maybe it’s better to try it in a decant before buying a full bottle.

  • I’ve become a fanatic for petrichor and wet earth; it’s a chemical beauty to recreate that scent. I started with Last Season by Meo Fusciuni and Atardecer by Navitus, now I have 30ml of Night Flyer for the notes and the buzz of the original Bat. I’m amazed: wet earth, fermented banana, and leather at the start. It’s a work of art for those who love the rare, a resounding yes for its accessible price. If you’re looking for compliments, try a decant before buying.

  • Bought a decant out of curiosity, and I have to say it didn’t live up to my expectations. The scent is extremely sweet and overwhelming for my taste, to the point where I can’t really appreciate the perfume. I don’t detect the earthy or woody notes it claims to have; instead, I get a strong chemical impression, almost like syrup or medicine. If you love intensely sweet scents with a 90s vibe, give it a try. Especially if you live somewhere that isn’t tropical, as it might be more appropriate in cooler climates. I even feel it suits women better than men.

  • Bought a decant out of curiosity and it didn’t turn out as expected: it’s extremely sweet and invasive, preventing me from appreciating it. I don’t perceive the earthy or woody notes; I sense more chemicals, almost like syrup or medicine. If you like sweet nineties-style scents, give it a try, especially in non-tropical areas. I even feel it’s more suitable for women than men.
