Far from the romantic honey-suckle and lilac vibe of the original, this one is zesty and cheerful: think coffee and chat in Greenwich Village with Central Park in the background. It opens with spicy red apple and tart blackcurrant, moves into a white floral heart with violet, and settles into a light musk and sandalwood base after about 10 minutes. It fades quickly, projects well for the first hour and a half, and lasts about 4 hours on skin. Great value for the price—it’s fruity but not sweet or gourmand, elegant yet playful. Edit: once I got home and it was more worn, the violet really took over and blended beautifully with the apple. What a shame it doesn’t last longer.

Pleasant and simple, it doesn’t bother me at all. Lasts for a couple of hours and then it’s gone.
