  1. Summer on the Mediterranean coast, my mother’s quintessential perfume. To me, it smells like a very subtle, almost imperceptible citrus with flowers that only appear when sprayed and fade quickly, leaving a watery trail at the end that reminds me of a man; I love unisex scents, so coming from a feminine line is a pleasant surprise. For her, however, it smells sweet and playful, a beautiful fruity floral without any acidity. A total contrast. Perfect for happy afternoons grabbing a drink and watching the sunset, but it definitely suits her better.

I adore it because I feel it’s the ‘younger’ version of Nina Ricci’s L’Air du Temps, my mom’s signature scent. It’s like smelling her but with 40 years less on her. I know they might only share two notes, but they smell like they’re from the same family. Very elegant, fresh, and clean. I love it!

After two hours, I smell honey locust; am I the only one? It’s a soft, clean fragrance with a slight sweet touch but not cloying. Honestly… great for the office or places where you’ll be surrounded by lots of people.

  4. Floral and youthful, one of those uncomplicated scents that goes with everything (office, studying, movies, or with friends…). In my case, it’s not that citrusy; I’d say more of a fresh floral with delicious shampoo vibes. It reminds me a bit of Versace’s Yellow Jeans, which I wore at 15. But it has no age limits: my mom is 78 and asked for it as a gift.

Smells like yellow flowers, refreshing and simple. I don’t think it’s very youthful; the longevity and sillage are average. Did they sell me a fake? I love the bottle.

  6. I didn’t like it at all; it feels too aquatic; that should be its third or fourth note. It doesn’t feel citrusy, just a lemon peel diluted in three liters of water with a few mimosa flowers. It has no longevity or sillage, so I already sold it.

One of my favorite perfumes for its softness and tenderness. I had read that neroli is typical of children’s colognes, but here it’s more sophisticated and woody. Perfumes don’t usually last long on my skin, however, the other day after a three-hour trip, I was immediately complimented upon arriving and greeting people, which is great for an EDT.

  8. A tender fragrance that makes me feel pretty and gives me peace. I agree it’s conceptual; it feels like a sunny spring day, so I don’t find it fresh; I feel it’s very powdery from the mimosa (which I like), so I prefer it for cold or rainy days. Its sillage and longevity are good.

I admire this fragrance because it has something conceptual that makes it ethereal; if the color yellow had a smell, it would be this. Although I also imagine sky blue because of how clean it results. Reviews have already listed the notes, highlighting the mimosa. I think the great effect lies in the combination of mimosa with lotus and freesia: it’s extremely revitalizing, full of harmony and beauty like a ray of spring sun. One of the notes I love seems like an old dark syrup, from an old apothecary or pharmacy, similar to Peru Balsam. That dark, syrupy note is sweet and bitter, balancing the aroma by removing all heaviness and obviousness, making it interesting. This impression is much more noticeable in Mimosa & Coriander by Adolfo Domínguez. I’d like to know what note it is, I suppose it’s the guaiac; it appears occasionally during the dry-down, shining in the final phase like a drop of resin in the sun. Absolutely beautiful, a treasure to keep. Christine Nagel really shined with this great composition, certainly the best in the Versace Crystals collection.

I love it; it brings back childhood memories when it dries down. At first, it smells like sweet lemon and pear, very fresh. Then the magic happens: the mimosa and freesia blend with musk and amber, taking away the citrus to leave it powdery yet floral. I wear it in winter and it’s super versatile—it could be my signature. Give it a chance and let it settle; it changes a lot. I think it’s also great for spring and summer.

  11. I tested it on blotter and on my skin, and for some reason—maybe the tester was bad—it smelled like fish. I really can’t explain it and would never buy it; there are better fresh options out there.

  12. It’s a perfume that doesn’t fit any specific season, neither heat nor cold. I detect sweet lemon, but the other notes don’t stand out, so it doesn’t seem like a unique or essential addition to any collection.

I tried it with a 5 ml sample and was disappointed: no longevity or personality on my skin. It’s barely like a cologne, volatile and fleeting.

Powdery lemon and mimosa. Not too sweet, not too fresh. It’s powdery, discreet, and subtle. A different kind of lemon; I recommend it for daily wear, the office, spring, and versatile daytime use. It’s pleasant and not overwhelming.

This is my mom’s signature scent, and I adore it; it brings back lovely memories. It smells like sweet lemon with the warmth of woods. I’m not sure if I detect lemon and pear plus an unrecognizable flower (probably mimosa), but in the dry down, there are delicate, cozy woods. I love it!

Versace Yellow Diamond is one of my favorite fragrances right now: sweet but with citrus notes, clean and floral without being cloying or powdery. I feel it has good longevity; I put it on in the afternoon and can still smell it when I go to bed. The trail is weak. It’s perfect for femininity, summer nights, spring, even autumn, and ideal for everyday wear. Very good, I love it.

  17. An ode to mimosa, enchanting! For many years it was my signature scent, and today it remains one of my summer favorites. I find it very clean and luminous, with a bright musk. It’s feminine, clean, fresh, yet with a chic touch. My favorite note is the mimosa: it smells like a fresh, elegant woman just out of the shower, like royalty strolling through the gardens of her castle. It’s an all-rounder perfume, and I love it, 10/10 and more.

  18. I love Yellow Diamond! It’s light, fresh, energizing, feminine, subtle yet present. To me, it’s the elevated version of those kid colognes that I really appreciate. It smells like yellow flowers; I don’t know mimosa in nature, but I assume that’s the note that hooks me. Compared to Intense, it’s slightly sweeter, while Intense is more citrusy; I prefer the regular one. The dry down is fresh but with a powdery touch, subtly sweet. The downside is that it doesn’t last long on my skin (nothing lasts long on me in general) and has moderate projection, but it lasts quite a bit on clothes, so that’s how I compensate. I think it’s a safe bet for daily, carefree, light, and happy wear. I’m already on the second bottle.

My mom uses it and it’s her favorite. I love it because it projects strongly on clothes and skin, lasting all day without being annoying. It’s a very modest and elegant fragrance, floral with musk and a little citrus. It can be worn day or night.

  20. I never imagined I’d discover this 2011 gem. It has incredible elegance and subtlety; the combination of mimosa and lilies is so soft and pleasant that it becomes a signature scent. It’s light, fresh, and memorable—perfect for wearing throughout your life to evoke special moments.

  21. I don’t see this as a summer fragrance, but rather for spring. On very hot days, it feels too intense and sweet.

  22. It smells awful, just like the Yellow by Adolfo Domínguez. Although the Domínguez one has better longevity and I prefer it a thousand times over, this one is more expensive due to the brand. I’m not buying it, no way.

  23. For me, this Yellow Diamond is pleasant for spring-summer, but after receiving it as a gift, it will just sit in my collection without making much of an impression. It has that typical citrus-floral-musk pyramid. While others identify the heart as mimosa, my nose perceives the floral heart as blurred; I detect lots of freesia, aquatic water lily, citrus, and a musk base. I wouldn’t categorize it as mimosa because that’s not what stands out. The scent is generic, like shampoo or body cream: it’s pleasant, refreshing, and clean, but lacks an interesting depth. I’d use it for working out, going to work, or shopping in informal daytime situations. It has moderate sillage and lasts 5-6 hours. While I like other fragrances with this composition, Yellow Diamond hasn’t won my heart and I wouldn’t repurchase it. Scent 5.5/10, Longevity 5.5/10, Sillage 7/10, Value 6/10, Versatility 5.5/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy again? No.

Finally bought a decant and the scent was nice. It reminded me of Elizabeth Arden’s Sunflowers; it has a zesty citrus opening and is quite floral, genuinely rich. The drydown is pretty, but it didn’t make me fall in love or even fully win me over. I like it, but I’m not sure if I’d pay the full price because it’s just another perfume, nothing special. Maybe if I find it on sale. It hasn’t earned a spot in my collection; the longevity is very poor, only 3-4 hours on the skin. Not worth it.

  25. Yellow Diamond is a nice perfume where mimosa is the star. The yellow floral vibe is accompanied by the sweetness of pears and the freshness of neroli and lemons. I also sense a bit of lotus, making it ideal for hot, humid summers. It doesn’t have much projection, it’s office-appropriate, but it does last quite a while (12 hours on my skin). It’s the most sparkling Versace diamond I’ve tried, and although it doesn’t smell natural or original, I think it’s a pleasant all-rounder for women to wear when it’s hot. Pleasant 7/10, Interesting 3/10, Versatile 7/10, Original 4/10.

Interestingly, as it dries down, I find it very similar to Acqua di Giò. Does anyone else sense a mint note? It’s a very pleasant scent; the lemon is very noticeable, along with a subtle herb that reminds me of mint and flowers like a soft mimosa, with water lily inside. (I don’t really know what freesia smells like). The more I use it, the more complex it seems. Ideal for spring and summer.

  27. Light, fresh, and sweet aroma, I love it! I bought it a bit blindly hoping I wouldn’t regret it, and definitely I didn’t. I use it during the day in spring and summer, but honestly, I’ve used it on almost every occasion, climate, and season.

  28. I tried it while buying another perfume; they let me smell some citrus fragrances and I didn’t like them. Its opening is super fruity and sweet, and then I feel it resembles Acqua di Giò, which I also don’t like.

I’m someone who avoids citrus perfumes, not because I dislike the smell, but because I feel they no longer suit me; I liked them more when I was a teenager. But the heat in my city was infamous for the past few months, so I ended up buying this fragrance. I’ve really liked it. I feel that, without actually resembling it, it follows the same line as Eros Pour Femme EDT: citrus, floral, with a touch of sweetness. It’s wearable and fresh, I think it’s one of those that couldn’t offend or overwhelm anyone. The opening is very fruity, and then the flowers and woods blend into a very pleasant harmony. It has low sillage, it’s more for personal enjoyment, and lasts about 4 hours. It’s one of my favorites for going to the gym.
