Ispazon is a woody oriental with a transparent soul and a bold character. As is typical with Parfums de Marly, they use top-tier extracts, and you can tell here. The opening is intense: white wood saturated with laurel, thyme, and amber. Notes like vanilla and lily give it a dry, transparent, aquatic effect, which is the signature of this fragrance; its luminous bursts last over 10 hours. However, while the quality is extremely high, these aromas have already been explored in designer perfumes, so Ispazon doesn’t bring much originality or novelty. After three hours, it has good presence and is ideal for humid heat, but its linearity and lack of evolution can be appealing to some and boring to those seeking more aromatic dimension; it could get tiring quickly. Personally, I like its style, but that linearity takes a lot away. It seems like the brand’s answer to combat the ‘maremagnum’ of Aventus. Good quality and performance, but the price-to-scent ratio keeps it off my niche list. Recommended for testing.

Smells like a countryside day in any corner of the Mediterranean: starts with a dominant laurel and a hint of spice, blended with subtle citrus. After an hour, it turns woody and sweetens slightly, which is exactly what stands out in Parfums de Marly: subtlety and sophistication. It’s not for everyone, but if you like classics and laurel, it’s a gem. The best part is its longevity in heat; it’s incredible how a fresh scent lasts 12+ hours and even lingers on clothes after washing. I wouldn’t buy it at 200 euros, but if you catch it on sale, like on Black Friday for 118 euros, I won’t think twice. It’s original because it’s discontinued, almost no one owns it, it smells great, and it lasts forever. At that price, 125 ml is a steal, especially if you’re a fan of the house. It’s worth it if you can get it at half the price of a Herod or a Percival; at full original price, not so much, but it might be worth it for others. In short, it’s a very good perfume.
