This is my fifth Samba perfume. The best thing about this brand is how affordable they are; a small bottle lasts months, even years. It’s a more than reasonable investment, costing between $10 and $20 per bottle, which is super convenient. Sometimes we can’t budget for a Chanel or Dior, and Samba has shown me I can smell great without spending a fortune. As for Samba Skin, it’s the fifth from the brand. It smells heavily of amber and spices, probably cinnamon with a hint of tobacco, but what stands out most is the amber, which is my favorite scent. The fragrance doesn’t change on the skin, the trail is moderate, and the longevity is medium to high. It’s very sweet, rich, and comfortable; people notice it but don’t mind it. When I apply it, it reminds me of chocolate. I use it almost daily, alternating with regular Samba or Nova. It feels better on rainy days, in fall or winter, but I wear it year-round regardless of the weather. A few months ago, I bought three extra bottles at a K-Mart special for just $7 each. What more could you ask for at that price!

It dries down to about 60% of Pure Havane, but the opening has something that doesn’t quite fit my taste; it lasts about 10 minutes before calming down and smelling nice. Here, the Samba Skin smells like chocolate instead of tobacco. I love Pure Havane and own it, but it’s expensive so I save it for special days; with that money, I can use this Samba Skin Man on other days because it’s incredibly cheap: for the price of one Pure, you get ten of these. I paid $10 (189 pesos). If you like Pure or Spicebomb, this could be for you—not just for the price, but for the scent, though don’t expect miracles.
