Samba Nova Homme by Perfumer's Workshop is an aromatic fragrance for men. Launched in 1993, this composition features a pyramid designed by a master perfumer. The top notes unfold a vibrant accord of lavender, fruity notes, green notes, neroli, bergamot, and cilantro. The heart reveals the elegance of geranium, the freshness of statice, the delicacy of jasmine, and the softness of lily of the valley. Finally, the base notes settle into a warm and persistent foundation of musk, oakmoss, cedar, tonka bean, and amber.

The alcohol note hits hard at first, then it fades without any standout scent. For a $10 perfume, you can’t ask for more, and it lasts just as long as the classics. It’s been over 30 years of mediocrity, unless you’re nostalgic for when you were a kid and it cost between $5 and $8. If you want to know what it smells like, think of a cheap Le Male, but with a harsh alcohol opening. It’s fine if you’re in a pinch.
