It smells good, but it’s not the beast you imagine from the notes. Cold scent is great, but it’s very shy and barely projects past a meter. It would stand out more if it were powerful; it’s expensive and not worth the price.

Cuir 28 is Le Labo’s exclusive for Dubai, only available outside the city in September. It’s one of the house’s best. It opens with leather reminiscent of Santal 33, mixed with spicy notes, animalic and smoky facets, and a petrol-like vibe; the dry down is spectacular. Then it settles into a dark, earthy vetiver that dominates the heart, accented with floral and almond touches, all over a sensual, creamy, ambered, and musky base with just the right amount of sweetness. The longevity is great, though the sillage is moderate except for that powerful opening. A truly beautiful olfactory journey.
