Gucci Rush by Gucci

It was the scent I kept thinking about before even trying it. Did I smell it when I was little? XD. I bought it blind because there were no testers, probably because it’s an oldie. I absolutely love it; it smells weird and special. It says it has peach, but it’s acidic, not sure if synthetic, but nothing like the typical sweet stuff I hate. This one is different. Maybe the rest of the notes do the magic ✨. They say it smells like plastic, maybe subtly, and I’m actually a fan of that XD

My first review and it couldn’t be about any other perfume than the one I’ve worn for 20 years 🥰, until it was discontinued. Seems like they’ve brought it back to stores and the official website 😁😁. I’m not an expert, but here’s my take: it’s unique, instantly recognizable, and lasts forever. Put it on your clothes and it lasts for days. It smells like ‘artificial’ fruit, not juicy peach, with an aromatic touch (maybe ginger) and a powerful patchouli. I don’t detect any florals. Ideal for fall and winter 🍁❄️, not fresh, but with care, you can wear it year-round. Perfect for night 🌛, sexy and addictive. They say it has pheromones, I don’t know if that’s possible, but it creates magnetism. With fewer sprays, it works for daytime without being overwhelming. They say it’s for adults, I’ve been wearing it since 18 and it doesn’t smell like ‘old lady’. I tried X by Clive Christian and it’s very similar, but Clive is denser and less ‘fresh’. I stick with Gucci Rush. Give it a chance, there’s no other scent like it 😍

The new reformulation smells like those vanilla-scented plastic bottles sold to raise funds for children with cancer. It doesn’t smell bad… but that’s all it is.

A coworker wears it and we ASK HER TO WEAR IT because we love it 😍. It’s one of the most delicious, fine, long-lasting, and best-scented fragrances on the market. Wish they’d make more gems like this 🙏🏻. Personally, I think it works best on cool days. It’s beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

I had an old review of this perfume and today, after trying it again, I’m updating my thoughts: it smells very characteristic. For the first time in a while, I smelled it and instead of the initial nausea, it seemed strangely sexy and intimate. It sparked my curiosity to keep experimenting with it; the most interesting thing is that it smells this way and, according to my nose, it’s truly unique. As a side note, the bottle looks like a terrifying, very kitsch nightmare, but it’s certainly different.

The hype makes me curious, and I own this perfume, but the two or three times I’ve sprayed it gave me nausea. I don’t know if I should give it more chances or sell it.

Another masterpiece from Gucci in the Tom Ford era. It’s incredible that Gucci has so many discontinued gems. Just by reviving these Tom Ford era gems, they’d sell non-stop. Just look at the prices online for Envy and this one in its original version made by Scannon; the current one made by Coty is still available at a good price and, although it’s not what it used to be, it remains a very good option and keeps the Rush essence.

I received it today with great sadness that it’s been reformulated. Nothing like what I tested 15 years ago; the previous version smelled delicious, something addictive. I don’t understand why they change formulas so much; I wouldn’t buy it blindly.

I bought it for €50 at a Duty Free, knowing they’re discontinuing it and I didn’t want to miss the opportunity. The bottle and the vibe attracted me a lot; I think it’s a perfume Kate Moss could have worn in her youth. The scent is pleasant, quite far from what’s used today, and it’s good to have something different. However, honestly, I don’t know where people get the idea that it’s long-lasting; it must be the previous version; the one I bought lasts less than Zara perfumes. I applied it this morning at 10:30 and it’s almost 5 PM and obviously there’s no trace left on my skin or clothes. It’s very pretty but I regret buying it a bit due to its poor performance; I also don’t feel it’s as nocturnal as people comment. Edit to say I stand by what I said and what a disappointment, it’s been the biggest perfume disappointment of my life; it must be the reformulation, but the sillage and longevity are terrible.

I had high hopes, but reality was harsh: I bought it blindly and finding it here in Mexico is a nightmare. The longevity is minimal and it projects nothing; a bad buy at a high price. For this style, Hypnose by Lancôme is a thousand times better; the purple one smells the same. Edit: On clothes, it’s delicious—smells like new vinyl and ripe strawberries, I imagine how it was before the reform.

Something weird happened to me: I got dizzy. Not a metaphor, literally my blood pressure dropped and I got nauseous. I detected a synthetic note, like rubber or gum. Was it bad? Or maybe something just rejects me… Though that makes it interesting, haha. Maybe I’ll try it again if I’m in the mood (I’ll bring menthol candies). Edit: I read I’m not the only one. What a controversial perfume, it awakens passions and hatreds. I’ll return, but mentally prepared.

Super imposing, intense, with a lot of presence, leaves a trail, and lasts forever. Impressive. Love it or hate it. For winter parties. Without a doubt, it doesn’t go unnoticed. I used it, forgot about it, and then I loved it; I used it again and it lasted years without losing quality. If it comes back, I’ll buy it without a doubt.

We all know perfumes bring memories. When I was little, I’d go see my brother far away, and we’d take a bus with a strong, synthetic air freshener. Mixed with the smells of people and the transport, it gave me automatic nausea. Many times I’d get off due to sickness. Gucci Rush reminds me of that air freshener. A girl at my job used to wear it and I’d keep getting sick, but today I tried it on my skin and I know what I was referring to. It’s a scent that gives me immediate discomfort, headaches, and nausea. To make it worse, I hate the peach note in perfumes. I don’t deny it lasts long, but it’s my misfortune.

I sprayed it on my wrist two and a half hours ago, and on my skin it creates that weird mix that gives me nausea; until now, only Kenzo Elephant (this was worse) had given me this. There’s something in Rush that reminds me of Elephant, that spicy sweetness I can’t stand. After some time, the intensity dropped, but the first two hours were horrible.
