We Matter by MARIA CHER.: A Creamy Gourmand with Citrus Sparkle

Launched in 2023, We Matter by MARIA CHER. is a women's fragrance that pairs bright citrus with a soft, indulgent feel. The scent opens with zesty lime and citrus notes, then melts into a creamy heart of panna cotta, orange blossom, and rum.

The base layers vanilla, cream, and white chocolate for a sweet and lactonic finish. With its gourmand character and fresh start, it's a perfume made for those who love desserts in a bottle.

The first spray immediately delivers a juicy, tangy burst. That citrus freshness keeps the perfume light and lively, letting the heart notes unfold without becoming too heavy. Panna cotta adds a smooth, milky texture, while orange blossom brings a gentle floral softness and rum gives it a subtle warm kick.

The real signature lies in the base. Cream, white chocolate, and vanilla create a rich, almost edible dry-down that lingers on the skin. The lactonic accord is prominent, but the opening citrus prevents it from feeling cloying—a balance that makes the fragrance easy to wear.

Early reviews point to solid performance, with good longevity and noticeable sillage. We Matter currently holds an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 22 ratings, showing that it has already found an appreciative audience among gourmand lovers.

This is a scent best suited to cooler weather. Autumn and winter evenings are where it shines, wrapping the wearer in a soft, comforting cloud. A lighter application can make it work for crisp spring days too, without overwhelming the senses.

With We Matter, MARIA CHER. delivers a confident, dessert-inspired composition. It's sweet but not childish, creamy but not cloying, and the citrus sparkle gives it just enough edge to stand out.

Women who gravitate toward sweet, creamy, and vanilla-forward perfumes will enjoy We Matter. It's also a great pick for fans of gourmand fragrances who want a citrus lift and a warm, lingering dry-down.

We Matter is a well-rounded gourmand: lively at the start, soft and cozy in the heart, and deliciously persistent in the base. If you're looking for a warm, characterful fragrance, this one deserves a try.

I’m a fan of Devotion and I can confirm it does resemble it, but more the Intense version. Obviously it’s not 100% the same, since We Matter has a cream note and a white chocolate note that you can really smell. It’s a fairly dense, wintry, sweetish and delicious fragrance. I’d buy it again if it weren’t for the TERRIBLE longevity. Seriously, I get that it’s an eau de toilette, but come on! It can’t last for such a short time; it’s a total shame because the scent is delicious! :'(

I’m not going to be very original saying this hahaha, but it’s similar to Devotion by D&G. It has that lemon pudding vibe, with a vanilla that feels warm without being heavy. I think it’s a very easy-to-wear perfume, and also very easy to gift to someone who feels that ‘vanilla perfumes are too cloying for me’. On my skin, the longevity isn’t very good; I wish it lasted a bit longer. However, considering it’s not expensive, I don’t mind reapplying it during the day. The only thing that really disappointed me was the atomizer. From the start it worked badly, and little drops came out instead of a mist. Such a letdown because the little bottle is super cute! Even with that issue, if you like Devotion or you’re just looking for a vanilla and lemon perfume without it being cloying, it’s worth it!

  3. Very nice gourmand perfume, in my opinion 100% feminine (sorry to the brand…), which you can get at a discount price at perfume stores or even on Mercado Libre. It doesn’t last long but it’s very nice.

It’s not bad, it has a certain resemblance to Devotion but without the strong citrus opening the other one has. It’s a sweet but somewhat synthetic scent. Neither here nor there.

  5. It’s delicious. My coworker always came to work with an intoxicating perfume and I didn’t know which one it was. Until one day I smelled it at a Farmacity and I loved it: it was the same one she always wore and that left a trail, so I got it. She used Devotion, I found out later, so I can attest that it’s exactly the same. Only this one lasts less on me, no more than 3 or 4 hours at most, and I need to reapply. But for the price, it’s more than fine.
