It’s a curious and hard-to-describe fragrance. Fresh and sweet opening, vaporous thanks to the mint that gives an ethereal touch. An article on Fragrantica says it smells like melon, my mom says violet, and to me it reminds me of fresh, sweetened oregano. I faintly detect rose, but it doesn’t stand out, which I appreciate because although I like it, it always brings me memories of insecticides. In the end, I notice a green, acidic, and bitter scent, which I’d say is the vetiver with the other notes. The projection isn’t huge and fades after about an hour and a half, but the longevity is potent; after two showers, I can still smell it on my arm. If you’re looking for a green/herbal aroma that isn’t ozonic or aquatic, here’s an option.
After ÔIKB, the bar was set very high, and this Verdant Delirium lived up to it. It’s a green composition, very green, sparkling with accords that recall melon without actually carrying that note. Oregano gives it stinging details, and the vanillas in the dry down add a creamy background. A very original perfume, nothing like anything I’ve smelled before, and it might produce a bit of duality.
I received a sample and it smells exactly like powdered melon, but with brutal trail and projection. I didn’t like it at all because it’s not my style. I put it on my hand and couldn’t wash it off even after five washes. Suitable for spring and summer, but too juicy for me.
Smelling the green of Santi Burgas confirmed there’s a lot of Verdant, though Delirium leaves me wondering if that blend is intentional or a mistake. I still don’t get the direction of this house. It opens with fresh, freshly cut fennel, very noticeable, which along with the citrus and mentholated notes creates that aniseed and green sensation. It does smell like melon gum, but the herbal dominates. The dry down is strong, rough, and unrestrained—more aroma than perfume. As it settles, the ambered woods and vanilla completely change the game, moving away from the initial green concept. It’s not bad to seek originality, but this marked transition gives me the feeling of pieces that don’t fit well. I distrust the intention behind Delirium; maybe I’m judging the execution poorly while looking for originality, but for me, this isn’t the perfume.
