  I’m a huge Jovan fan; these are absolute gems for the price and they’re not even close to being outdated—many have been on the market for over 30 years. With this specific one, my first try was a total letdown, not even a hint of charm. But with this brand, you have to give it time because they don’t win you over immediately; gradually, you discover their magic and get hooked. Maybe Tropical Musk is their easiest entry, which is strange considering they have scents like Sex Appeal that are quite intense. It’s sweet from start to finish, opening fruity, spicy, with green notes like freshly cut grass. The Jovan-made musk is there but toned down, softened to a whisper like in Jovan Musk For Men. On the other hand, the trio of sweets: vanilla, sandalwood, and tonka. The whole thing gives off a sunscreen or skincare product vibe. It’s fairly linear with few changes throughout its evolution. Good longevity, around 8 hours, with a contained sillage, perfect for close encounters or when you don’t want the perfume to announce itself from afar. I see it as unisex without any issues, great for any occasion, though it might feel a bit light in winter, but it doesn’t clash much. It’s very versatile; I wouldn’t wear it with formal wear or for sports. In short, I recommend everyone try it—the brand is cheap and the musk has me hooked.
