Descripción
Amouage Tribute is an oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2009, this composition was created by perfumer Olivier Cresp. The olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of Taif rose, saffron, and spices; a heart of incense, rose tincture, French labdanum, amber, and jasmine; and a base evoking tobacco, leather, patchouli, vetiver, cedar, and juniper.

Tribute is dark, dense, and almost sacred in its style. Arabs are known for creating transcendent and introspective fragrances. This has the most projection and sillage I’ve ever experienced. In fact, it’s an attar with an oily concentration, so a single drop is enough. Like Asrar and Homage, it’s not versatile. The best time to wear it is autumn and winter. Another masterpiece from Amouage. One milliliter lasted me almost a month, and I’m not exaggerating—it’s highly concentrated. Totally recommended for those who love dark perfumes.
With Tribute, just like with Homage, we have another rarity due to its extreme exclusivity. It’s another ‘attar,’ as I explained in my Homage review. It’s a clearly Arab perfume that smells like a ‘torrent of resins,’ very smoky. It’s exotic, ‘liturgical’ because of that resinous aroma, and yes, very little versatility. When I got the sample, I wore it to Christmas dinners with family, and it felt like I’d just stepped out of a divine service. These are such personal scents that you never know when to wear them. Amouage’s Epic Man, rich on its own, is versatile compared to this. Just to give you an idea: the longevity and projection are standout; one drop flooded the dining room. Since it has an oily base, it lasts a long time on the skin. Only for winter and very special occasions, so many that I can’t even list them. They discontinued it just like Homage, but I’m sure you can find it on secondhand websites. It leans clearly masculine due to the smoky notes.
If regular Amouage scents are already exclusive, these attars are the peak of rarity. Apparently, in Arab countries, they’re the most common perfume. I tried a sample and it hit me just as hard as the rest of the Amouage line. Interlude Man is smoky on its own, but this tribute takes it to another level—it smells like pure resin, so much so that you can almost picture a religious ceremony. It’s very peculiar, not very versatile, and strictly for winter. I think they’ve pulled it from the market. What a shame, because even though the price was astronomical, it was considered one of the brand’s best fragrances.
