Khulasat wasn’t easy to love at first. I bought it as one of my first Arabic scents, and after reading reviews, I expected a powerful, long-lasting leather, but the opening was too sweet and unpleasant, not improving much as it dried down to a leathery scent with that persistent sweetness that wouldn’t go away. Plus, the longevity on my skin was just okay (4-5 hours). I left it forgotten on the shelf for months. When I decided to trim my collection, which had grown quite large, I took another look at it and, without giving it another chance, listed it for sale; luckily, no one was interested, though I was almost giving it away. Later, seeing it gathering dust again, I felt like remembering that smell I had so disliked. I won’t say it was love at first sight, but that sugary opening had softened, and the drydown left a fine leather with very pleasant woods. Overall, I kept giving it chances, and it slowly won me over. I won’t say it’s one of my favorites, but I no longer plan to get rid of it; now I enjoy it quite a bit. By the way, the performance has improved: it lasts 7-8 hours with rich sillage. Scent: 7, Longevity: 7.5, Value for money: 8, Would repurchase: Undecided.
