Supremacy Incense by Afnan

A fragrance that broke my expectations. The leather, which I usually reject, is contained here, elegant, almost like new leather, sitting in the background. Mystical and mature. Ceremonial incense marks the axis, surrounded by dark florals and supported by a soft amber. Warning: beast mode. Two sprays fill the room and last all day. More introspective than social, it’s a night scent. It’s not for everyone, but for those seeking something deep and mysterious. P.S.: Out of curiosity, I tried an Interlude decant from Amouage. The surprise was instant: Afnan has nothing to envy. While Amouage is dense and almost animalistic, Supremacy Incense keeps up with mastery, delivering that smoke and dark florals that make it unique. A real proof that the experience matters more than the price tag.

What can I say about this exceptional fragrance? Note: it’s not for everyone, but if you like to stand out with your scent, this is for you. The oregano touch is atypical but gives it something unique. Green, fresh, smoky, soapy, and impactful. Don’t buy it blind or judge it by the opening. Spray it a few times and test it days later to notice the balance. The first time, I didn’t like it, but the next day it told a different story. Sincerely, a 9/10.

Before judging, atomize and shake the bottle to oxygenate it; letting it rest for a week makes a difference: the fragrance rounds out and softens. The opening is intense and slightly rough, but within a minute it stabilizes, revealing a refined incense heart with warm, vanilla-like nuances. The structure is deep and balanced. Performance is exceptional: a few drops project strongly and leave a trail that lasts days on clothes or in enclosed spaces. Compared to Interlude Man, it’s more balanced and wearable; the oregano is present but moderate, and the sweet base adds an unexpected elegance. An excellent dupe of Amouage’s Interlude Man, including projection and longevity; a perfume that infuses spirituality. I loved its clean, high-quality incense note. Note: it’s not for everyone; I don’t think it’s for young people, but rather for mature folks who want to project security, confidence, and distinction.

Amazing fragrance! Powerful opening with oregano and spices; in quotes, I sense herbal notes. Smoky heart (the opening is smoky too) with a delicious amber that adds soft sweetness, body, and a certain sparkle. Quite resinous thanks to opoponax and labdanum. I smell a semi-chocolatey patchouli, not green, but dark. I don’t detect leather. I’ve never smelled the original Interlude, but if they say this clone is 95% identical, the original must be a delight. Lasts 10 hours on skin, present for 6-7 hours, projecting for 2-3 hours with bursts until the fifth hour. After that, it’s intimate, and by the 8th hour, it’s a second skin. Let it oxygenate, like all Arab perfumes. Those who say it’s hard to wear or too occasional are wrong; I use it for work, going out, seeing my girlfriend, anywhere. People always compliment me; they never say it’s not for the occasion. Batch 2022. Edit: I have an Interlude decant, and they are extremely similar, but the original has more body, depth, and smells of better quality.

Very rich. It’s a unique touch with that opening where oregano and spices really stand out. Seems to have a hint of mint even though it’s not listed. Smells like spicy incense, like a mystical shop, haha. It gives off a mystical and mysterious vibe. The projection is lovely. If you wear easy, versatile scents that everyone likes, this isn’t for you. If you want something that stands out from the crowd with a distinct personality, give it a shot.

Seems like they reformulated it. I bought a bottle from June 2023 and the aroma changed a lot compared to the early batches. It no longer resembles Interlude; they lowered the smoky and oregano notes and boosted the fruity and sweet spices. Before, the smoky and oregano notes dominated from the start and it was almost linear until the end with woods and amber. Now the opening is fruity/spiced and sweeter, the smoky notes (reduced) are noticeable from the start and last until dry down. In the heart and base, there are notable vanilla, coriander, and tonka bean notes without the fruitiness disappearing. At the end, woods, amber, and tonka bean remain, with the tonka being very marked. As for longevity and projection, before it was beast mode with over 12 hours. Now the projection is good for the first hour and then acceptable, longevity on skin is around 6 hours (over 10 on clothes). Personally, the current aroma seems more interesting and versatile, but the performance is only acceptable. I think those looking for challenging and extreme scents will be disappointed. Greetings Fragrantics!!! Update 1: Now it smells more like Lattafa’s Maahir Black Edition. The tonka bean is noticeable from the heart and intensifies at the end, similar to Maahir Black but more prominent. Update 2: The aroma improves as the liquid oxidizes with use. The fruity and sweet spice notes intensify and performance gets better. Does anyone confirm if the current aroma (batch 2023+) resembles Naahir Black and by default Terroni?

Horrible opening, must be the oregano, then it calms down and ‘sweetens’ a bit. It’s quite heavy for enclosed spaces if you overspray.

After having it for a while, I regret buying Interlude. Now I have this and Interlude, and damn, unless you press your nose right up to it, you barely notice the difference, it’s completely unnecessary to buy Interlude with this clone, I’ve never seen one so well done, it’s brutal and equal in longevity and projection. Said 340 euros thrown in the trash and this one cost me 39, mind-blowing.

It’s not a perfume that’s hard to wear at all. Hey, it’s not Aqua di Gio, obviously, but I have much more complicated fragrances in my collection, like Gucci Guilty Absolu.

The experience was exactly as they said: church smell xD. It’s not for everyone, and I won’t say I hate it because the perfume is well-made, but it’s just indifferent to me. It’s not for me. P.S.: Don’t buy blind.

After 3 months of trying to like it, I finally did. At first, it smelled unpleasant to me; why would anyone want to smell like oregano and frankincense? But over time, I’ve discovered new tastes, and this is one of them. The performance is very good, a bit oily, and it has improved even more with maceration. It smells like oregano, barely perceptible oud, a frankincense that reminds me of Zoologist’s T Rex, and smoke. Now I’m eager to wear it in winter; I think it will suit my personality well. It was a perfume that took longer to like than others that are considered ‘difficult,’ like T Rex or Xerjoff’s Cambodian Oud.

The opening is potent, clear oregano, but also has a sweet touch that Interlude Man lacks, which could make it ‘friendlier’ for noses not yet familiar with Amouage’s scent. It’s potent, equally denotes the presence of the original, keeps projecting and evolving well past the sixth hour (not as exaggerated in longevity as Interlude Man, and less than the Interlude Man 53 version). However, for the price, it’s more than enough. What more can be said? To describe this aroma that pays homage very well to Supremacy. The opening is rough, but the dry-down is the most beautiful part; those who know Amouage know this well. The Afnan version borrows almost nothing from the original; highly recommended. Greetings. *I haven’t tried the other Arab alternatives, only Killer Oud, but I’d say I’m sticking with this for now.
