I was blown away by how spectacular it is. It starts with resin and oud, something my inexperienced nose didn’t expect. It lasted 10 hours on my skin. Very different from conventional perfumes.
Incredible perfume, beastly quality, and excellent performance. Every time I find a gem like this, I move further away from designer perfumery, which sells us expensive eau de parfums as if they were pure essence, a rip-off, honestly. The opening is spectacular: sweet resins, oregano, a touch of citrus, fruity, and spicy—I loved it! Minutes later, incense appears, along with a smoky woody note over the sweet resin, a masterpiece! Gradually, leather enters, a bit rough, but well-balanced by the sweetness of myrrh and opoponax, which give it a more approachable character. The dry down is woody, smoky, and resinous, leaving me speechless. It’s a 90% clone of Amouage’s Interlude Man. I loved it so much I already have 4 bottles in case they discontinue it. Lasts over 10 hours, strong projection at first then moderate. Fits cold and mild weather, it’s a night scent, though I’d wear it unjustifiably on a winter morning just for the pleasure of carrying it. I recommend it 100% to lovers of sweet, resinous orientals. The price is ridiculous compared to the quality and performance, a scent away from trends but with a Western soul.
I love it, it’s addictive and wonderful. A high-quality oriental at an insane price, very similar to the great Amouage Interlude.
Extremely oriental and elegant, it reminds me of Amouage’s Interlude (which, by the way, is too much for me), but wrapped in a crunchy praline of nuts that makes it irresistible. Sometimes the student surpasses the master… someone takes an idea and takes it to the end, and the result is this marvel. It’s addictive, top quality, with excellent longevity and projection; two sprays last all day and you can tell. It’s worth MUCH more than it costs; I predict the price will rise once it spreads and people start hoarding bottles. I’ll be part of that problem. Run, fools!
A stunningly elegant oriental that certainly has an air of Interlude by Amouage (which, by the way, is too much for me), but wrapped in a sort of crunchy nut praline that makes it irresistible. Sometimes the student far surpasses the master… you have an idea, but someone comes along who develops it to its ultimate consequences, and the final result is… this wonder. Addictive, of magnificent quality, with excellent longevity and projection, since two sprays are enough for the whole day and it makes itself known. Without a doubt, it’s worth MUCH, MUCH more than it costs; I predict a price hike once its scent spreads more and people start hoarding bottles. I don’t mind admitting I’ll be partly to blame for that happening. Run, fools!
If you like Interlude by Amouage, you’ll love this; for me, it’s even better, smokier, less gourmand, and 8 times cheaper. Clearly masculine. Longevity and sillage are excellent.
I bought this fragrance blindly because of the hype in the community. I have to say, the feelings are mixed. An opening I don’t like at all; to me, it smells like burnt plastic. Plus, that sensation lasts at least the first hour. From then on, it turns into a very, very complex but much more pleasant scent. It’s synthetic at all times. It’s only after 4 hours, when its projection has diminished quite a bit, that the scent is truly enjoyable. If it resembles Interlude, I certainly won’t buy it. Scent: 5, Projection and Sillage: 7.5, Longevity: 8.5, Versatility: 6.
It’s a scent I like… clone of Interlude… for me, the tricky part is the opening… once it settles… it’s a creamy perfume… the only thing it lacks is more longevity… comparing it to other clones… these keep throwing hot potatoes around… while this one stays very close to the skin or disappears… what a pity… because it smells very, very well…
Another clone that tries to approximate but doesn’t reach the power and magic of MIDNIGHT OUD BY ARD AL ZAAFARAN. I can’t find any indication of MIDNIGHT OUD BY ARD AL ZAAFARAN on this website, which I’ve been testing lately: bergamot at the start alongside powerful saffron and smoke, followed by a sublime sweetened or powdered incense until the end, typical of the interior of a cult temple. A beast in duration and projection (a beast that must be among the BEST MODES). The perfume of a sheikh smells like power, like… I apologize for the crudeness, but I can’t find words to express it. Please let me know where I can report this so they can include it.
It’s a charming smoky scent… acceptable quality-to-price ratio. Better than many designer scams sold to us that smell like nothing or all smell the same… and cost four times as much. It doesn’t have much of a trail; it projects less than a meter for the first hour, then stays pretty close to the skin. It’s meant to be enjoyed by oneself because the aroma is delicious. Sometimes I wear it for dinner or just after a shower to accompany the meal. It’s quite economical. Totally recommended.
A charming smoky scent with great value for money. Better than many designer perfume scams that smell like nothing or all smell the same and cost double. It doesn’t have much projection, staying within a meter for the first hour and then sitting close to the skin. It’s meant to be enjoyed by oneself because the scent is delicious. Sometimes I wear it for dinner or after a shower just to accompany the meal. It’s quite affordable and totally recommended.
The bottle is misleading, perhaps suggesting a simple, low-power floral scent, but this perfume is the exact opposite! It’s a beast when it comes to strength. You can smell many notes at once: the smoke, the myrrh, the oregano. It feels warm and woody, definitely something different in a good way. I’m happy with this purchase, I would buy it again!
The bottle deceives: it looks like a simple, low, floral scent, but this perfume is a beast! It smells strong, with many notes at once: smoke, myrrh, oregano. It feels warm and different, in a good way. I’m happy with the purchase, I’d buy it again without hesitation.
It’s funny to me that people say ‘the good one,’ ‘the beast,’ is just Shaghaf Oud… Do they actually have the Shaghaf Oud? Shaghaf is oud with vanilla. No myrrh, no incense, which is what smells like resin. This one smells resinous, so it won’t be as strong as the vanilla, but it has a very notable scent. To me, it smells better than the overhyped and expensive Interlude.
ThetioLui, the Midnight Oud by Ard Al Zaafaran doesn’t contain saffron; that’s the Midnight by Juliette has a Gun. It also doesn’t have myrrh like this one. I’m currently smelling another decant of Abyad, and this is what comes closest to the incense of the Epiphany procession with maximum power.
I’m not sure how much it resembles Amouage’s Interlude, but it’s a dead ringer for Midnight Oud; maybe Shaghaf is a bit more resinous, but come on, they’re almost identical. The performance is insane and the scent is a marvel.
