  Ever since I dove into the world of Frederic Malle, Carnal Flower has been my absolute king and one of my go-to fragrances. Within the brand, Dominique Ropion’s creations are my favorites, but Superstitious didn’t do anything for me at first. The opening caught my attention because it smelled like that rose water with aldehydes my grandmother used when I was a kid, but as it dried down, it seemed less appealing. Over time, the more I wore it, the more I loved it. The opening remains gorgeous, but now I adore the dry down, where the floral blend of roses and jasmine and that incense note really shine. It has slowly become my second favorite, right behind Carnal Flower and above Musc Ravageur or Promise, which are also my classics. The performance is spectacular: it’s a longevity bomb with a standout sillage (and it’s worth it, even though there are more expensive perfumes that don’t deliver). I don’t recommend buying it blindly, but don’t rule it out if you don’t like it at first, because I see many people react the same way. Those who like Chanel No. 5, Arpège by Lanvin, or Boucheron might not fall in love at first, but eventually, they’ll be hooked just like I am. Although it seems feminine, I see it as unisex and would wear it anytime. Scent: 9.5, Longevity: 10, Sillage: 8.5, Value for money: 6, Originality: 8, Versatility: 8, Overall: 9.5
