I won’t contradict the previous review since I only tried it once and they’re probably right. But I thought that, being such a beautiful, well-presented fragrance, the best approach is to use it moderately; perhaps we’re dealing with a ‘beast mode’ and made the mistake of ‘bathing’ in it. Setting that aside, my take on the fragrance: I’ve found one of the best patchoulis I’ve ever smelled (almost on par with Molinard’s 1999 ‘Patchouli’); it’s the star note. I don’t detect that overwhelming mix of extra notes, except for a pleasant, subtle oud, a slight cobbler’s leather, and a spicy accord (pepper and maybe saffron, which I’m getting used to in Arab brands). That ‘burnt’ effect others noticed undoubtedly comes from the patchouli in high doses. You have to try it on skin before buying (I agree with the previous commenter). On my skin, it had a quite pleasant evolution.
Excellent quality and performance for a great price. Although it resembles the Rasasi version, it maintains a high-quality scent in its ingredients. I recommend it blindly if you want to smell different from everyone else.
Bought this based on good reviews, and the opening smells soapy-fruity like Rasasi’s Sura, but the smoke note ruins everything. They overdo it; it smells like burnt plastic. In Sura, it’s well-balanced, but here it’s intolerable. It’s as strong as Rasasi’s Tabac Blaze, which is a toxic beast, and this is the same thing, just slightly less. If it smelled like actual smoke or incense, it would be fine, but this is burnt plastic mixed with fruit and soap. Not recommended; smell it before buying.
I won’t contradict the previous review because I only tested it once and they’re probably right. But I thought that, being so beautiful, well-presented, and well-made, the best is to use it with moderation; maybe we are in ‘best mode’ and commit the mistake of ‘bathing’ in it. Clarified on that, if you like it (like I do), use it with prudence. My opinion: here I found one of the best patchoulis I’ve ever smelled (almost on par with Molinard’s ‘Patchouli’ from 1999); it’s the protagonist note. I don’t detect all that mix of extra notes, except the oud (pleasant and subtle), a slight cobbler’s leather, and a spicy accord (pepper and maybe saffron; lately I’m getting used to this note in Arab brands). Writing this, I think the ‘burnt’ effect others noticed comes from the high doses of patchouli. You don’t just have to smell it, you have to test it on skin before buying (I agree with the previous guy). On my skin, it has had a quite pleasant evolution.
An Oud, saffron, and red fruit bomb. Absolutely unisex. It’s an oriental fragrance and distinct from the traditional stuff. Beast mode activated, worth it, and the price is super good.

Hi… According to the notes, it should have leather, but I never smell it since I started using it. The rose comes out loud and clear; it’s a soapy and clean scent. This goes on until it dies after 10 hours. I notice something feminine about it, but I like it quite a bit and use it.
Hi… According to the notes, there should be leather, which I’ve never smelled since I’ve been wearing it. The rose comes out full force… A soapy and clean aroma. This lasts until it fades after 10 hours. I notice something slightly feminine, but I like it quite a bit and I wear it.
Around 2019 there were two ‘sibling’ perfumes due to similarity: Rasasi Shurah and Kelsey Berwin’s Huberta. This Special Oud joins the trio as a domesticated version of both. It has an almost soapy tone in the mid-stage, which differentiates it from Huberta, but it follows its path. It’s for cold weather or transitional seasons. It’s economical, so in my opinion, it’s interesting.
Just got it and I’m testing it out; what a gorgeous perfume. The box is somewhat flimsy cardboard, but the bottle is robust and beautiful with a metal cap; it even includes little wood chips inside (they say they represent woody notes and Oud). The scent is a surprise: it starts off distinctly Arab, then quickly shifts to a vibe I absolutely love: a vintage fougère style like Ted Lapidus or Jacques Bogart, giving off an 80s vibe, soapy, barbershop (even though I only shave myself), mixed with a touch of rose. I’ll keep watching the performance (it seems brutal). Hope this helps, a humble server from Patagonia.
I just acquired it and am testing it out: beautiful perfume, regular cardboard box, sturdy and nice bottle, metal cap, and it even has little wood sticks (they say they represent woody notes and oud). The scent is unexpected: it starts Arab and quickly shifts to a vibe I love: a vintage fougère style like Ted Lapidus or Jacques Bogart, eighties vibe, soapy, barbershop (even though I shave myself), mixed with a little rose. I’ll keep watching the performance (seems brutal). Hope this helps, from Patagonia, Argentina.
Hello! I just got familiarized with this perfume, which arrived a few days ago. Undoubtedly, it has quality: beautiful bottle, cap, atomizer, and those little wood pieces inside. The scent is also well-executed and well-cared-for. It’s a difficult and complex smell; my issue is the dry down: it opens fruity and spicy, highlighting peach and saffron with lots of pepper. After that phase, in the mid-stage, it remains spicy with an interesting floral accord. The problem comes in the base: a complicated oud that smells greasy, squeaky, and even gives me a headache; it reminds me of car grease and unaged leather, very wild, but it doesn’t lose its spicy body. Performance is beastly: one spray flooded the room. It’s an interesting scent, full of enigmas; I’ll give it time to interpret it better, but it will never go unnoticed.
I received it today and it disappointed me. I don’t sense any of the listed notes. It starts with just a slight sting, then it’s linear: soapy, sweet grapefruit or pomelo, and that’s where it stays. Later it settles into something between peach and floral; I don’t know what flower it is. I don’t sense woods, vanilla, oud, or leather; it smells totally feminine, like a woman over 35. Nothing for men. It has nuclear longevity, but it only works if you like it; otherwise, it’s terrible. It was my first blind buy that I didn’t like; I’m going to gift or sell it.
Received it today and I was disappointed. The listed notes, honestly, I don’t feel any of that. It barely has a hint of spice, then it’s linear, soapy and sweet grapefruit or tangerine, and that’s it. After that, it settles into something between peach and floral; I don’t know what flower it would be. I don’t sense woods, vanilla, Oud, or leather; it’s a totally feminine perfume, for a woman over 35. Not at all recommended for men. It has nuclear longevity; the issue is that you have to like it for that to be positive, otherwise it’s terrible. The first blind buy I made that I didn’t like at all. I’m going to gift or sell it.
Personally, I have a batch from 12/2024 and I think it still needs to mature; it smells like woods in the bottle. Upon spraying, it’s a spicy citrus with a touch of sweet fruit; the citrus dominates and guides the first few hours. It lasts quite a bit, about 5 or 6 hours on skin, noticeable from over a meter away. As it dries, a balsamic wood appears, but it’s closer to the skin. I’ll give it time to see if it becomes more woody. I don’t love it right now, but it makes sense for fall or winter. We’ll see how it evolves.
If you already own Shuhrah Pour Homme, skip this one; it’s basically the same dosage. I was looking for a more prominent oud, but it smells more like soap than wood. Don’t wear it indoors because it doesn’t appeal to everyone and it doesn’t evolve much. However, it’s a beast: its longevity and projection are brutal.
It opens fruity and floral, with a unisex or even feminine vibe, which some girls might not like (I tested it), but as it dries down it becomes woody and smoky, gaining a masculine and seductive character. It’s not for everyone, but if you’ve been looking for something interesting, challenging, and standout for a while, this is a good option.
