  Siesta is a gorgeous scent, very Mediterranean. I’ve known it for years thanks to my friend Francesc, who despite spending the day touching his testicles and smelling his fingers, had an impeccable taste in perfumes. This was one of his favorites: he’d change his ‘favorite’ every two days, but they all remain in memory. I don’t know what happened to Siesta, discontinued long ago, but it didn’t have much luck despite its indisputable quality. Nowadays it’s not hard to find if you look a bit: it seems unsold stock remains. Its name, even its beautiful burlap box, are prophetic of what’s inside: a calm, relaxing fragrance that starts with citrus and soft flowers before settling on a woody base, giving it a masculine edge. Refreshing and luminous, it’s holy water on a hot day, just after stepping out of the shower. The trail is very subtle and the longevity isn’t the best (at most three hours, after that it’s hard to detect), but throughout its life it leaves a lovely impression of a spring field after a meal, where only birdsong can be heard and sleep starts to weigh down the eyelids. That is Siesta. Rating: 8.5/10
