Scent of Gold by Trussardi is an oriental woody fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by perfumer Alienor Massenet. Upon release, the fragrance unfolds with cinnamon, bergamot, and prunol; in the heart, tobacco, violet, and jasmine; and in the base, labdanum, vanilla, and patchouli.

Honestly, this Trussardi line is perfect for oriental lovers. It plays with niche-style combinations like amber, leather, and oud, but always with the quality and longevity of a designer fragrance. That’s not a bad thing; it just makes daily wear of certain archetypes much more manageable, and this is a clear example. For me, it’s a designer take on Black Orchid, minus the overly chocolatey notes and the loud orchid; it’s everything else. It’s sweet but not cloying, with patchouli sweetened by cinnamon and a fruity note (plum or something similar) that sets it apart without being too flashy for everyday wear. Great composition; for me, one of the best hidden gems in this line, alongside Trussardi Uomo Red.
