Hey, I’m not entirely sure about it anymore, but it had a sweet touch (my strong suit) mixed with something fresh, seductive, and even a little poisonous. It fit perfectly for my age as a young guy. I tried it in a tester bottle and then changed a lot until I ended up with Davidoff Zino, which I found more mature and elegant, but this scent was unique and I hadn’t heard anything like it. Ideal for going out, impressing, and surprising; it seems like it would last on a stranger for a good while. I’d be surprised to smell it on someone again; I haven’t crossed paths with it in ages. If you try it, give it time, it develops a lot. Back to my relentless and exact descriptors: scents aren’t just science, they’re portals to pleasures and memories. Nothing beats them to remind you of life’s ‘Hammer’ moments, and those are unique. Cheers, guys.

  • Davidoff Relax from 1990 has roots in the 80s but kicks off with that Cool Water freshness: foresty ferns, mentholated, and comforting hits that strike you right away. It’s dry, sparkling, with pot-herb garden notes, very similar to classic ferns like Brut or even the vibe of Aqua Velva. Yes, barber shop vibes, green explosions, clean and refreshing scents men have felt since they were young after shaving. But it doesn’t end there: the base is vanilla, amber, and aromatic woods, so besides the fern, it’s a bold oriental. The sensation is like putting Aqua Velva on your face and then Old Spice, or traveling back to Dandy Man. The blend is original; I’m sure it inspired Francis Kurdjian for Le Male years later, keeping the idea but ditching the 80s style and adding sweet musks. Projection and longevity are very good. It’s like an after-shave that lasts as long as you want, leaving you embraced by pleasant, masculine, crisp, and formal sensations. As an oriental, it’s not as imposing as Zino; as a fern, it’s not as explosive as Cool Water. Maybe being in that gap, on the fringe of trends, made it fade until it disappeared. To me, it seems original, essential, and a must-have landmark for any collector of discontinued scents.
