Poseidon The Black is rich, sweet, and has a spicy kick; if it were music, it’d be a ‘youthful pop rock’ with way more pop than rock, like Kelly Clarkson’s Breakaway or Avril Lavigne’s early albums. It’s feminine but with a dark edge; over-applying it can be overwhelming. The top notes highlight rose and pepper, with hints of jasmine and citrus, all sitting on a persistent vanilla base. On the skin, it leaves a heady scent of red berries, especially black cherries with sugar and fermented pepper, which is unusual since they’re not listed ingredients. Some say it’s a dupe for Paco Rabanne’s Black XS L’Excess for Her; I haven’t smelled that one, but with the same ingredients, it must have some truth to it. The trail is powerful for the first two or three hours, then fades to skin-level; it lasts about five hours. I highly recommend it for its sweet, warm aroma, suits all ages, and is perfect for nighttime wear year-round, except in summer or when it’s very hot.

Neither the scent nor the longevity are bad. I suppose it’s already discontinued, but you can still find it. It’s the closest thing I’ve found to my beloved Lady Rebel Rock Deluxe by Mango, which I got at a great price. Apparently, this style isn’t as popular anymore, and I have to admit, it sounds a bit dated.
