Part Time Hero by El Ganso

I fell for the positive reviews, bought it, and it was the worst purchase. I’d read about headaches and nausea, and now it’s confirmed. Part-time hero, part-time villain.

It didn’t work for me. It has a great citrus opening, but after a while, it starts smelling like moss and stagnant water, almost like a riverbank. Maybe it performs better on other skin types.

Surprised me; very similar to Mirto di Panarea by ADP with acceptable longevity. It’s not very projecting nor does it leave a huge trail, but in skin longevity it surpassed designer fragrances from the same day by a wide margin. Not my style, but it’s a good fragrance.

Interesting fragrance. At first, it smells like lemon zest with rose, lavender, and Virginia juniper—a rich, singular scent evoking the countryside after months of rain under the first rays of spring sun. As it dries down, you get a soapy aroma and a subtle talc note, like that childhood Nivea shower gel, very clean and fresh. In the end, it lingers on the skin with a fresh rose, like a face cream. Worth trying, but don’t buy it blind. It’s unisex and ideal for hot weather. Fragrance 7/10, longevity 7/10.

Later, it smells like powdered detergent, very clean. It’s pleasant, brings joy and well-being. Perfect for spring and summer, totally unisex. It lasts longer than it seems, especially on clothes. Interesting citrus fragrance, but I don’t recommend buying blindly. Its virtue is that it doesn’t smell like other perfumes. Extremely citrus opening, then aromatic touches and a hint of rose. I think it’s unisex. After several days, the longevity is good. For about 20-25 euros for a 75 ml bottle, it has good value for money. Final note: 7.

I really liked it. It’s a straightforward perfume: starts citrusy with a green touch, then on my skin, the rose takes over. Imagine a Lacoste Essential, but less green, more citrus at the start, and way more rose at the end. They executed it well, avoiding those sweet notes I hate (tonka, hazelnuts, vanilla) and that cheap synthetic white musk even expensive brands use. The rose is fresh, floral, with a slight soapy touch. Maybe the ingredients aren’t top-tier, but the blend is solid and it doesn’t feel like a direct clone. Performance is standard, maybe slightly above average: lasts over 4 hours without being a sillage magnet. Worth it for the price, which is around 30€ for 125ml.

After three hours, I can’t smell it anymore, but people around me still can. They say it smells good dry down.
