When did Tom Ford start releasing pointless flankers? We might be looking at one here. Knowing that the original Ombre Leather formula is a hit and brilliant, they rushed to launch the Parfum version just because it’s an extraordinary DNA and is trendy. You expected a significant change, but anyone not an expert will feel them identical. If we smell them side by side, maybe we’ll notice nuances; it’s more floral than the EDP, with a violet leaf that mutes the leather a bit. Overall, they smell the same; I can’t detect any tobacco, nor do I feel it as woody as the notes should be. It feels lighter, with less deep and animalic leather, making it more wearable, though that’s not necessarily positive since some prefer the dense aroma of the EDP. This Parfum is more restrained; although it lasts the same, its sillage and projection are moderate, in line with its goal of being a light leather. It’s probably more unisex due to the floral notes. The scent is essentially the same, with barely any differences except nuances that only those who use them a lot or compare them will notice. In my opinion, it’s redundant and not worth the slightly higher price. Absolute masterpiece, an essential if it didn’t already exist since 2018, still, it deserves a try alongside the original because those nuances might make someone who prefers something lighter opt for this one.

It’s the best perfume I’ve ever smelled; it tastes delicious. I’m 17 with some experience, but oh boy, I loved it. It lasted over 14 hours with a single spray on my wrist; it’s the most masculine and rich scent I’ve ever smelled. Edit: If I’m being picky, it smells great but isn’t the holy grail; within the leather family, it’s one of the best.

  • Musclemancer

Too similar to Bvlgari Terre Essence or Dior Fahrenheit to justify its price. That said, it smells incredible.

  • An elegant and versatile perfume, pleasantly soft, ideal for any moment. In my experience, it doesn’t stand out; its sillage is precarious and you can’t smell it after a short distance. It doesn’t live up to its reputation, and the price is too high for the performance. For me, a perfume needs to make an impression; it’s the olfactory signature of the wearer.

I bought it a few days ago; exquisite and elegant scent, but I expected more. The leather would be pink if it were a color: delicate with flowers, nothing strong. Very good blend, but it has zero projection. On my skin, it lasts 4 or 5 hours, projecting at first and then staying as a very personal bubble. I wouldn’t buy it again, mind you, because the fragrance itself is wonderful.

  • Personally, I don’t see a huge difference between the EDP and the Parfum. It’s a scent where leather stands out—elegant and very long-lasting. Regarding projection, I think it causes olfactory fatigue, but others still perceive it after hours. I like wearing it alone or layering it with Lost Cherry; the combination is amazing.

  • After trying the Parfum version several times and finally buying it, I’d choose it a thousand times over the EDP I already knew. I won’t talk about notes as it’s redundant, but for me, this version is perfect. I don’t need special occasions or sunset to enjoy it; I spray and head to work happy. Since I work in air conditioning, I even wear it in summer. I stick with this because I love the scent and don’t have to limit it as much as with the old version. Maybe some don’t notice the differences, but they’re there; the EDP is too loud for the office. At the end of the day, when I like a scent, I want to wear it often. I’m surprised some don’t get the same longevity and projection as me (I have dry skin); it lasts at least 10 hours on me with beastly projection, and I ride a motorcycle. At 47, I feel this perfume represents me fantastically without leaving leather trails everywhere I go. I fell in love.

  • Tom Ford’s Ombré Leather Parfum is pure sensuality and mystery. Launched in 2018, it’s one of the brand’s most popular scents. It opens with cardamom, ginger, and cumin—vibrant and exciting. In the heart, rose and jasmine blend with leather and amber. It dries down to patchouli, vetiver, and oakmoss, giving it a masculine and lasting finish. It’s ideal for the man who wants to seduce and captivate, boosting confidence and adding mystery. The leather and amber mix is virile, softened by flowers for elegance. Perfect for dates or special events; its intensity and longevity ensure you’ll be remembered. It’s a treasure for anyone looking to reflect their seductive and elegant side. I wear it for meetings, travel, or dates.

  • I absolutely love this fragrance, but unfortunately, on my skin it doesn’t last even 2.5 hours. Does anyone else experience this?

  • Jucart1243

Super masculine perfume with brutal quality and massive sillage. It’s much friendlier than the classic Ombre Leather, which is very niche. This one is easier to wear, even if the scent polarizes some people, and that’s a good thing.

  • Alejxndro

I see a lot of hype. I’ve worn it for months and it simply smells like new shoes or a leather jacket. I don’t understand what’s attractive about such a basic scent, and I don’t see it standing out over others that leave it behind at a similar or lower price point.

  • luisferg98

It’s spectacular; it radiates quality, elegance, and class. The opening is like the EDP with intense leather, but this Parfum version has leather with imposing floral touches. No doubt I like it more than the EDP because it’s fresher, and you really feel those floral notes. That’s why I bought it; the EDP feels too strong to me. Definitely a fragrance every man should own; it makes a statement wherever you go with that peculiar aroma.

  • I had to decide after months of testing decants and finally found the bright spot everyone mentions. I have the original (2018), which is more usable in cold and mild weather, and this one (2021), which performs in any climate except extreme heat.

  • Before deciding which Ombre Leather to buy, I tested both several times and ended up with this one because it feels more elegant. The floral notes make the leather more wearable and easier to enjoy. I’ve gotten good compliments, and my wife loves it.

  • Very good. The progression doesn’t change much: it smells of leather, flowers, and woods. It opens dry and strong, then becomes creamy, more floral with an amber nuance. Very easy to wear, nothing challenging. But if you don’t like leather, you won’t like this. Maybe I’d want better performance and more longevity. Ideal for formal occasions or the office, always in cold or cool weather. Totally masculine. A great option to have in your collection, but not at any price.

  • Ombre Leather Parfum smells like the EDP with slight changes. At first, they’re similar, but the Parfum is fresher and greener. As it dries, the white florals stand out; it’s warmer, ambered, woody, and powdery. The EDP, though denser and darker, had a brightness that made it unique; here, the perfume feels more decadent and muted. I’m not saying it’s worse—it depends on taste. The leather smells the same, but the other notes make it different; to me, it smells like lower-quality leather shoes, which is why I prefer the previous version. Lasts 8 hours with moderate projection. In short, it’s very similar to the original but with a noticeable floral, fresh, powdery twist, though the overall composition feels less special. Still elegant and unique.

  • Andres colombia

By far the one people talk about the most. I didn’t expect much, but everyone says it ‘smells expensive,’ and the dry down is super rich—you can really tell the quality.

  • beto_ruiz

Ombre Leather Parfum is leathery, floral, and woody. It opens fresh, citrusy, and ozonic, but the shoe-cream leather note comes out quickly. Over time, the leather recedes and the florals rise, making it more aromatic than the EDP. Dry down is fresh with a spicy tobacco touch. It works from casual to formal, day and night, with great elegance. Lasted 8-9 hours for me, but the sillage was only strong for the first hour before settling on the skin, just like the EDP. It’s more wearable than I expected, less spicy but with the leather and woods intact. Personally, I liked it more.

  • I love it; it’s almost identical to the EDP but slightly softer and more floral. They’re right to say it’s more wearable—it doesn’t smell different at all. I still love the original and don’t see why I shouldn’t own both. They’re top-tier, though this one lasts and projects less.

  • _joceleste

Amazing fragrance, it’s leather put in a bottle with an atomizer. Exquisite leather, not synthetic. It’s one of my favorite fragrances; if I had to give it 5 stars, I’d give it 6 ⭐. It’s a fragrance that if you have it and it runs out, you must buy it again to have in your collection.

  • Pabloquinte

It’s the best leather that exists, wearable and very pleasant. I prefer the EDT because this one is very floral; it seems like a good option for women. Perfume bomb!

  • gastontito20

Exquisite perfume!!! I bought it blind and the truth is I was surprised by its aroma… I LOVE IT!!! I give it a 10/10.

  • A masterpiece of perfumery. Unlike the EDP, it’s a white leather (hence the bottle label), luxurious and glossy, with well-marked floral notes thanks to jasmine (which accompanies from the opening until the dry down), lily, and intense violets, with a woody part produced by the cedar accord. The floral aspect makes it more versatile than the EDP and allows us to wear it not only in autumn and winter, but also in spring and even summer nights. As it dries down, notes of fresh, freshly cut green tobacco leaves appear, giving it more character. It presents excellent longevity, easily more than 12 hours, projecting moderately for around 3 hours. Ombre Leather Parfum is more refreshing, formal, and elegant, ideal for the office and to accompany us in daily non-sporting activities; on the other hand, the EDP is more invasive, nocturnal, and informal, for cold climates and for special occasions in the workplace. In my personal experience, the Parfum version brings many compliments from women, while the EDP receives praise from men.

  • Hocicosensible

Perfume of enormous quality. I like it much more than the original (which I hate because it smells like a flea market bag). It’s probably because of the floral notes, which I absolutely love. Unfortunately for me, I tested it in summer and my wife didn’t like it due to its strength (obviously it’s not a perfume to wear at 35 degrees). To her, it smelled like petroleum. And it’s true that it has a hint of that. However, it was very addictive to me. Very good longevity. Not as much projection, but more than adequate. Highly recommended.

  • Javidiaz.al

Super rich, formal, ‘white’ leather. I like it a bit more than the EDP (which is still a marvel). Very good longevity and great projection.

  • Finally I have it and I must say it doesn’t disappoint; it’s a quite pronounced leather perfume, meaning it lives up to its name. It’s a leather scent that, while I like it, I understand isn’t for everyone, but it’s definitely a work of quality and if you like leather, you must try it. It has several layers; the leather is present in almost all of them, with flowers appearing just in the heart notes. At the end of the perfume’s life, the flowers give it a subtle and pleasant touch, standing out more than the leather. Regarding longevity, it lasts more than 8 hours on skin with moderate projection and a strong sillage that makes you feel like you’re surrounded in a bubble. They say this projects less than the EDP, but I haven’t tried it, and I’ve also seen comments saying the EDP smells the same, but I’m not sure because the other one has cardamomo.

  • Bought it a few days ago and the scent is spectacular. Fresh floral notes are very noticeable at first but fade in just a few seconds. Then a more intense floral scent remains (very masculine), with woods and a super elegant leather. I had the chance to smell the EDP and the Tuscan Leather versions; the latter is quite a bit more expensive since it’s from Tom Ford’s private line. The Parfum version is the most well-rounded of the three: the easiest to wear and the most elegant. The EDP smells like rougher leather, less treated, more rugged. And the Tuscan Leather smells much more animalistic, like a stable. In conclusion, the Ombre Leather Parfum seems to me to be the definitive, well-rounded, and most elegant version of Tom Ford’s leather line. It’s a bit pricey, but I got it on sale on 11/29/2024 for about 98 euros for 50ml. But I think it’s worth it given the fragrance quality and the brand; Tom Ford isn’t cheap. (As for longevity and projection, I haven’t used it much yet, but so far it’s pretty normal, around 6-7 hours longevity and about 2 hours of projection. I have Arab fragrances for 20 euros that give this several times over).

  • Fantastic Christmas gift we received at home. After using it for a week, I have to say I’ve loved it. From the very first moment, you notice that soft, smoky leather scent, with a spicy touch, along with a floral nuance that gives it a very elegant air. As time passes, the perfume settles, and you notice more that essence of leather mixed with woods, and a bit of tobacco. In general, this fragrance conveys confidence and a touch of sensuality. It makes you feel secure, with character, and a distinguished style. It’s perfect for occasions where you want to leave a lasting impression and project elegance effortlessly.

  • I’m not a fan of Tom Ford fragrances; I never was. The excessive price of their products and their controversial scents have kept me away from the brand for a good while. However, I must admit there are fragrances from the brand that I love, like Bitter Peach, Ébène Fumé, Costa Azzurra, and the beautiful Neroli Portofino. On this occasion, I had the chance to try this version of Ombré Leather, and honestly, it’s excellent. Here we find a leather that, in my humble opinion, is much more versatile, pleasant, and wearable than the first version. The tobacco, jasmine, and lily root play a majestic role, accompanying an attractive and predominant leather. Not only did the scent catch my attention, but also its performance, which is incredible; on my skin, it surpassed 24 hours. While its price is high, I consider it an excellent option to consider if you’re looking for a fragrance that makes a presence and prints character. Definitely, I recommend it.

  • Diego Parfum de Marly

Love at first sniff; the scents I like most are freshly brewed coffee, leather, wet earth, new tire, gunpowder (the smell of striking a match). This perfume offers a scent extremely close to authentic leather. As an olfactory experience, it’s gratifying for how well-made it is, for its quality, and for how faithful it is to representing that particular smell. However, it’s not a fragrance one wants to smell frequently. Continuous use makes it lose some of its charm, and besides, I don’t associate it with a person but rather with a leather object. That’s why I consider it ideal for occasional occasions. It’s a scent that, without a doubt, won’t go unnoticed, but that doesn’t always translate into positive comments. My wife says I smell like a briefcase, my son like an old man, and other comments I’ve received include things like “you smell like a horse” or “like a shoe sole.” Very few identify the scent as leather, and even fewer say they like it. Finally, I believe it’s a unisex fragrance, although with a clear leaning towards the masculine. I bought Ombre Leather Parfum because they told me it was a softer and more delicate version than the original, and personally, I perceive it that way. Perhaps that’s why it can be considered unisex, although it still has a markedly masculine character. That said, I’ve noticed that for some people it can be a bit strong, as they’ve told me I smell like an animal or a horse… I don’t know whether to take that as a compliment or not, haha!

  • Manuel Carmona

What a beast of a perfume, it smells like a Mustang seat, black leather, hot engine. It’s masculine, with a wild yet elegant character. From the first spray, a dense, enveloping cloud of leather hits you straight in the nose; it’s not synthetic leather, it’s a soft, spiced suede, a rough and dry leather that smells like the road, hot wind, and freedom. There’s a spiced bitterness, like a breeze dragging dust and rocks; it’s cardamom with a slight touch of violet, giving it a mysterious depth, like the dark shine of a leather suit under the moon. Spicy but calm leather, smooth, not challenging, barely perceptible jasmine, a vibrant and spiced opening with a still smoky, tobacco-heavy base that screams power. High projection, lasts hours radiating just enough to not be intrusive. Not for everyone, it’s for those who love the road, risk, and the smell of freedom. A little non-evolving but incredible perfume, it smells like good Derby or wingtip shoes freshly polished. Perfect to wear with Chelsea boots, a Wrangler jean, and a jacket worn just right. Not suitable for heat, but perfect for elegant dates in cold climates. I must say that a few years ago when I first tried it, I didn’t like it much, but smelling it again after some time was love at second sight; recommended if you’re a man with bearing, masculine, and with enough character to carry it. Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 (used to last longer) Sillage: 7.0/10 Versatility: 2.0/10 Compliments: 6.5/10 Not everyone loves leather Originality: 7.8/10 Marked a before and after Olfactive Rarity: 4.0/10 Nothing complicated to smell, perfect for starting with leather Average: 6.47

  • Out of all the leather-based perfumes I’ve heard of, this is the most modern and versatile I’ve come across.

  • Excellent!!! Very rich perfume; I sense a slightly fruity and floral opening, somewhat citrusy, and you might think this leather has nothing to it, but after that opening comes a smoky wood and a very violent leather, a strong, dense leather that gives the sensation of entering a shop selling the highest quality leather. If you’re not used to dense fragrances, it can be very strong; I agree with other reviews saying it smells like true leather, and some might perceive it as an animal smell or a stable, but elegant; it radiates class and elegance. It doesn’t project much, but it stays close to you like a bubble and lasts hours; on clothes, it lasts days. I don’t regret the purchase; I go and smell it every now and then; it’s not for daily use.

  • Pure, hard leather. Masculine. It needs to be worn with appropriate clothing and demeanor. I grabbed the 100ml bottle and I think my kids will inherit it, because with just 2-3 sprays it floods your body with a scent of hardness. It’s not for daily use, not even close. I have the feeling that it’s the typical perfume that men like more than women; I’ll keep you updated. It projects an “aura.” It’s not my favorite fragrance, but it IS the definitive leather fragrance. Leather and more leather, period.

  • A perfume I absolutely love; I could say without fear of being wrong that it’s my signature. Tremendous luxury.

  • Tom Ford – Ombre Leather Parfum Imagina. Imagine a gala night, impeccable attire, getting into a beautiful car that starts off towards an important event. That event requires formality, a suit, presence, and elegance. This perfume is that: elegance, masculinity, leather, and dominance. It starts rough, a velvet leather hit that smells like walking into a luxury shoe store, where the intense leather scent invades your lungs. The leather remains realistic at all times, accompanied by a floral note that makes it more subtle and tolerable, without losing that intense, dominant, masculine leather vibe. After a few minutes, the scent lingers more on the clothes (or skin, depending on where you apply it); you’ll notice the high quality because it feels like brand-new luxury leather shoes of the highest level. Serious, masculine, and imposing; for the leather lover, this perfume is imposing. If it weren’t for the price, I’d buy another one. 9/10 Pros: •Great longevity (surpasses 10 hours on skin and 24 on clothes). •Realistic leather scent; if you hate this note, it’s a velvet leather. Cons: •Price, which could be the only major drawback besides the scent. •It’s not a challenging perfume, but it might bother those who don’t like intense leather. •Its trail is moderate, not very powerful, but anyone who gets close will feel it.

  • Spectacular! The story is clear: love at first sight. For years, I read wonders about Ombre Leather on YouTube, but I learned that in perfumery, you can’t blindly trust everything. Tastes are personal; what one person adores, another might not care for at all. Plus, in Spain, it’s not common to find testers for this Tom Ford in traditional perfumeries. I’d always pass by, see it, but couldn’t try it. Until one day I found a tester. I sprayed it on, and it was instant. No need for any more thought. That elegant, deep leather with character but refined. Potent, yet sophisticated. It’s not a dirty or aggressive leather; it’s a worked leather, classy. My wife saw how much I loved it and ended up gifting it to me. That makes it even more special. On my skin, it has excellent longevity and projection. It’s my quintessential autumn-winter perfume. It’s presence, character, confidence. It’s one of those perfumes that makes you feel well-dressed even if you’re not. It’s not mass-market, not for everyone, but it connects with me completely. And when a perfume connects like this, no review is worth more than that feeling.
