Vanilla & Leather by S.T. Dupont is a leather fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by perfumer Julien Rasquinet. Its olfactive structure unfolds with a top note of pink pepper, giving way to a heart of tobacco, jasmine, and yerba mate, to culminate in an intense base of vanilla and leather.

Good morning, Jerry. Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful moments I’ve had reading your descriptions. Fragantica’s format is what it is, but I truly appreciate you sharing your passion and personal experiences with fragrance. Some reviews have moved me, not sure if it’s the time and form you share, while others make me smile with their subtle irony. I think when you manage to talk ‘repetitively’ about something abstract like a perfume, you have ‘spark’ in your writing. They’ve probably already told you that. Sometimes I almost forget about the perfume itself and just get caught up in the emotions you describe. The same happens with texts from BOFIFA, DRAKECITO, or MONSEURLEATHER. There are many good descriptors, but you convey so much. That’s said: thanks for your time and for the emotions you share. Until we meet again in another review. And may this Christmas be wonderful for you.
Some days fly by, far too often identical: work, seasonal ailments that knock you down, miscellaneous commissions, little free time, mental fatigue… Fortunately, we’re approaching the holiday season soon, and my intention is to enjoy this wonderful time. I want to use perfumes suitable for the period and my mood. Vanilla & Leather by S.T. Dupont has really pleased me, and I hope someday it becomes part of my collection. It’s a light vanilla tobacco fragrance, but not inconsistent or lacking in longevity; pleasantly smoky with a hint of animalic, sweet and persuasive, giving the sensation of focusing on the essentials: it evokes lit fireplaces, brandy in elegant glasses, increasingly intimate atmospheres, with hugs and whispers. That vanilla and leather go well together isn’t new to my nose, but here it results in something supremely pleasant. The scent oscillates between sweet accords and the moderation of earthy and animalic notes, all very well balanced. A very good perfume with moderate performance and ingredient quality above average.
