I don’t know, I smelled cherry vomit. I want to buy it, but I’m not sure.
Literally, it’s like a chocolate candy filled with boozy cherry; there’s no liqueur in the notes, but if you’ve tried that candy, you know what I’m talking about. Regarding whether it’s a dupe for Black Opium Over Red: no, I have it, they could be from the same family but they aren’t the same. Over Red has the DNA of the original with cherry, no cocoa, and doesn’t feel boozy like Mayar. I love both, and for the price, Mayar is great if you like perfumes with cocoa and sweets. Like most Lattafa, it doesn’t disappoint.
My sister gifted it to me, and although I haven’t used it much, it pleasantly surprised me at close range. I love cherry-scented perfumes, but the smell wasn’t what I imagined from the notes: it’s very sweet, potent at the start, and can make you feel a bit dizzy. The sillage and longevity seem weak, but it’s made up for by how delicious it is. It’s frustrating I can’t identify it; it smells like something familiar. It’s sweet, but not childish; it’s elegant and sexy. I’ll use it for night plans. It is NOT a dupe of Black Opium Over Red, nor do they resemble each other; the cherry in Over Red is more intense and natural, less sweet. In Mayar, it’s like a caramel; it also doesn’t resemble Lolita Lempicka Sweet. Each has its own personality; they’re great for layering.
⚠️ Be careful with the hype. It smells like pure sugared cherry with cocoa, tasty yes, but it smells childish or juvenile. It’s a simple scent with no phases, radiating an innocent aura. Nothing like BO Over Red, which is sensual and adult with multiple stages. I use it for errands and won’t repurchase, plus it has poor longevity.

I tried it at the mall because I liked Sabrina Carpenter’s Cherry Baby and Black Opium Over Red. It has an interesting opening, but on my skin, after 5 minutes, it mutated into a heavy, sweet aroma like a car air freshener, not cherry. You can boost the sweetness by layering with a vanilla or a cherry/raspberry/red fruit mist, and you’ll absolutely crush it. On my skin, it’s literally dark chocolate with a touch of vanilla and a very well-done boozy cherry. Lasts 5 hours on skin and over 10 on clothes, plus it leaves a trail. The price is great, but be careful since it has a lot of essence and can stain clothes.
The Mayar Cherry Intense wasn’t what I expected. Maybe I should have tried it in colder weather, but upon smelling it, I got a semisweet chocolate with a bitter cherry essence. I don’t know why, but I expected something sweeter, and it turned out to be much more chocolatey, though a bit bitter for my taste. That said, it lasts, it’s cheap, looks nice, and has great sillage.

Spectacularly delicious; I love the cherry note. It’s well-executed: the opening has a lot of bitter cocoa, but as it dries down, the cherry comes through. It’s not cloying, not too sweet—I love it.
Brutal cherry perfume. Usually, cherry scents gross me out with that cough syrup vibe, but this is on another level: cherry bathed in semisweet chocolate liquor, intense and deep, not cloying at all. Super sexy; I’ve gotten tons of compliments. Lasts 10 hours (projects less after a few hours but lingers on the skin much longer). It’s winter/nighttime, but I don’t care—I’ve worn it in the middle of summer in the morning. Highly recommended; I already have a decant and I’m buying the big bottle.

Just received it. Honestly, it’s not bad but I didn’t love it. You can smell the cocoa, some almonds, and the cherry, but there’s something synthetic that makes it a bit tiring. It’s sweet and the vanilla is noticeable. It doesn’t get annoying, but it’s not a 10/10. I’d give it a 7/10. Maybe it’s my pH… or just the hype versus reality. That said, it lasts forever and projects more than the perfume it’s inspired by.

I didn’t like it 😔. I tried it and for now I’m keeping it, hoping it smells better once it ‘matures’. As usual, the opening is very alcoholic (common in Arab perfumes); it doesn’t bother me, but I don’t like that gasoline or ‘tire’ scent. I don’t know what note gives it that touch I don’t enjoy. I’ll wait a few months for it to improve 😩
I definitely love it! It’s ridiculously versatile, perfect for any occasion and age. I just wish its projection was stronger because that cherry, vanilla, and cocoa sweetness is addictive; I’d love to be inside a bubble of this aroma. Note: I’m not usually a fan of sweet perfumes, but this one has won my heart. Nothing more to add!
The ‘alcoholic’ opening is 100% real; if it lasts only a few seconds and is intense, I wouldn’t recommend it for hot weather because it’s incredibly sweet. In the cold, the chocolate really shines after an hour. I think the cherry note feels a bit weak—it’s more of a general sweetness than a fruity one. Definitely not a blind buy since it’s a particular scent.
