  • Literally, it’s like a chocolate candy filled with boozy cherry; there’s no liqueur in the notes, but if you’ve tried that candy, you know what I’m talking about. Regarding whether it’s a dupe for Black Opium Over Red: no, I have it, they could be from the same family but they aren’t the same. Over Red has the DNA of the original with cherry, no cocoa, and doesn’t feel boozy like Mayar. I love both, and for the price, Mayar is great if you like perfumes with cocoa and sweets. Like most Lattafa, it doesn’t disappoint.

  • My sister gifted it to me, and although I haven’t used it much, it pleasantly surprised me at close range. I love cherry-scented perfumes, but the smell wasn’t what I imagined from the notes: it’s very sweet, potent at the start, and can make you feel a bit dizzy. The sillage and longevity seem weak, but it’s made up for by how delicious it is. It’s frustrating I can’t identify it; it smells like something familiar. It’s sweet, but not childish; it’s elegant and sexy. I’ll use it for night plans. It is NOT a dupe of Black Opium Over Red, nor do they resemble each other; the cherry in Over Red is more intense and natural, less sweet. In Mayar, it’s like a caramel; it also doesn’t resemble Lolita Lempicka Sweet. Each has its own personality; they’re great for layering.

  • ⚠️ Be careful with the hype. It smells like pure sugared cherry with cocoa, tasty yes, but it smells childish or juvenile. It’s a simple scent with no phases, radiating an innocent aura. Nothing like BO Over Red, which is sensual and adult with multiple stages. I use it for errands and won’t repurchase, plus it has poor longevity.

  • Yummy, yummy, yummy! It smells like cherry candies dipped in chocolate, I love it, but honestly, I wish it lasted longer. Scent: 1000/10, Longevity: 5/10, Sillage: 2/10.

  • I detect cherry and slightly sweet cocoa with a very spicy oriental touch. It doesn’t smell as gourmand as the reviews say; I can really smell the spice! It’s a bit strange, though not unpleasant, giving it a sexy point, more for night. I expected more cocoa and sweet cherry like Black Opium; they don’t resemble each other at all.

  • It’s a sweet chocolate with an acidic cherry filling. I thought it would have a deep cocoa like Nebras, but it’s lighter. It smells nice, but nothing special. Ideal for cold nights, not very versatile.

  • Yes @mitierradelibros

Honestly, I tried it the other day and it lasted quite a bit, but on my skin, the bitter cocoa dominated and I didn’t detect any cherries, so I lost interest.

I was lucky to try Mayar Cherry Intense. First impressions: it’s sweet, fruity, the cherry is very noticeable, along with strawberry and cocoa; ‘Kriska Romance’ comes to mind. I wouldn’t call it a dupe, but they’re very similar, like cousins. It’s delicious and nice, but I wouldn’t buy it; I’m not a huge fan of cherry, and it doesn’t drive me crazy. It doesn’t resemble Lolita Lempicka’s Sweet. It has great longevity, projects well, and is ideal for daily use in cold climates. If you like sweet fragrances with cherry, I recommend it; otherwise, test it on your skin before buying. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 10/10, Sillage: 10/10, Packaging: 9/10, Versatility: 5/10, Value for Money: 10/10. Would I buy it? For now, no.

  • I love it! Right out of the bottle, it smells like that jelly filling in cookies like Fruts or Spunch, probably from the strawberry and cherry jam, giving it a slightly boozy vibe. It doesn’t evolve much, but it lasts a good while—up to 8 hours on my skin, which can be overwhelming if you don’t like things sweet. It has a slight resemblance to Black Opium Over Red, but it’s definitely not a dupe.

  • I love it! Perfect for autumn and nights. It smells like a chocolate candy with cherries in a very soft liquor. It shifts from intense chocolate to a warm, subtly vanilla cherry. I adore it; its only downside is the longevity; I feel the trail doesn’t last more than 3 or 4 hours. I suggest trying it before buying; I don’t think it’s the best decision if you buy it blindly.

When I tried it at an Arabic perfumery, I liked it more than Nebras because I sensed a more bitter chocolate. Now that I have the decant at home, I smell the synthetic notes more; it smells almost like hard caramel with cherry flavoring. Obviously, I can’t expect much from a cheap one, and I still like the scent, so I see it for daily use. In fact, I’ve tried super synthetic perfumes that didn’t bother me, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again when I run out.

  • MelinaCereza

I wouldn’t buy it blindly. I tried it and fell in love; I really like the cocoa note. On my skin, it feels like the bitter cocoa with cherry anchors it better. It has a vibe similar to Kriska Romance—it’s not a dupe or similar, but it’s in that ballpark: a red fruit wrapped in chocolate. It lasts a long time on my skin, and I’d buy it without a doubt.

  • jamonaramona

I didn’t like it on my skin at all; it felt very synthetic, like kids’ syrup. What a pity, because I really wanted a cherry perfume and had read great recommendations.

  • Stephanielaturca

I bought it blindly for the cherry notes and loved it; honestly, I’d never bought a cherry-scented perfume before, and it impressed me. It’s not pure cherry; it’s sweet cherry jam, with a slight chocolate note and a final sharp amber touch. After many hours, it leaves a vanilla scent on the skin with a bit of musk. Ideal for temperate climates, day-to-night, spring and autumn, and for me, it’s feminine.

  • cherrylady

It smells like alcohol, more like cherry liquor than edible fruit. That was the only thing I noticed.

  • Very good and I love it. The notes are exactly as described: there’s cherry, but it’s super chocolatey and the cocoa takes the lead. The trail and projection are top-notch; every time I wear it, I get compliments, and it shocks my close friends. It lasts 6-8 hours on my skin, all day or more on hair or clothes, haha! It’s a bit overwhelming. The formula is excellent, I’ll buy it again when I run out.

  • It smells like cherry jam; I don’t detect any cocoa at all. I’m torn, but I wouldn’t add it to my collection.

  • I bought the perfume blindly because I wanted one that smelled like cherries, and honestly, I liked it. It’s not a powerhouse, mostly because I think its longevity isn’t very long, but it’s not bad at all for the price. On my skin, the first thing I notice is the cherry, a bit smoky, and over time, the vanilla-scented chocolate comes out more, and from a distance, the cherry is there.

  • I love boozy cherry candies bathed in dark chocolate; this smells exactly like that, a delight. I liked it more than Opium Over Red; I feel it’s the same idea but with different results. This one is sweeter with more chocolate. When I wear it, I want to eat myself.

  • The richest cherry perfume I’ve ever tried; I love it. I debuted it today, it needs to mature, but I don’t think it will disappoint. Update: it has great sillage and longevity on skin; I received many compliments.

  • Just arrived. I tried it and so far I only smell a strawberry gum; I don’t detect the cocoa. I think it disappointed me because I expected something else. Don’t buy blindly.

  • I tried it at the mall because I liked Sabrina Carpenter’s Cherry Baby and Black Opium Over Red. It has an interesting opening, but on my skin, after 5 minutes, it mutated into a heavy, sweet aroma like a car air freshener, not cherry. The amber took over everything and gave me nausea… It was a good price if it was.

If you’re looking for a cold-weather perfume that’s elegant, sweet, and seductive, and you like gourmands, get this. I barely notice the strawberry, only at the very beginning, then it fades. I don’t detect any bergamot or patchouli. I love it for going out to dinner or on the coldest days. You can boost the sweetness by layering with a vanilla or a cherry/raspberry/red fruit mist, and you’ll absolutely crush it. On my skin, it’s literally dark chocolate with a touch of vanilla and a very well-done boozy cherry. Lasts 5 hours on skin and over 10 on clothes, plus it leaves a trail. The price is great, but be careful since it has a lot of essence and can stain clothes.

  • Lucille Lemonade

The Mayar Cherry Intense wasn’t what I expected. Maybe I should have tried it in colder weather, but upon smelling it, I got a semisweet chocolate with a bitter cherry essence. I don’t know why, but I expected something sweeter, and it turned out to be much more chocolatey, though a bit bitter for my taste. That said, it lasts, it’s cheap, looks nice, and has great sillage.

  • gothicnightmare

Smells like cocoa and cherries, but not those sweet, juicy cherries typical of gourmands; it’s all quite bitter. I read the notes and expected something more intense and sweet, but the cocoa dominates and the cherry isn’t very prominent. Personally, I didn’t like it. Don’t recommend buying blindly; if you like sweet, boozy, and ‘dark’ scents, give it a try.

  • Spectacularly delicious; I love the cherry note. It’s well-executed: the opening has a lot of bitter cocoa, but as it dries down, the cherry comes through. It’s not cloying, not too sweet—I love it.

  • FlorPerfumito21

Brutal cherry perfume. Usually, cherry scents gross me out with that cough syrup vibe, but this is on another level: cherry bathed in semisweet chocolate liquor, intense and deep, not cloying at all. Super sexy; I’ve gotten tons of compliments. Lasts 10 hours (projects less after a few hours but lingers on the skin much longer). It’s winter/nighttime, but I don’t care—I’ve worn it in the middle of summer in the morning. Highly recommended; I already have a decant and I’m buying the big bottle.

  • Just received it. Honestly, it’s not bad but I didn’t love it. You can smell the cocoa, some almonds, and the cherry, but there’s something synthetic that makes it a bit tiring. It’s sweet and the vanilla is noticeable. It doesn’t get annoying, but it’s not a 10/10. I’d give it a 7/10. Maybe it’s my pH… or just the hype versus reality. That said, it lasts forever and projects more than the perfume it’s inspired by.

  • I didn’t like it 😔. I tried it and for now I’m keeping it, hoping it smells better once it ‘matures’. As usual, the opening is very alcoholic (common in Arab perfumes); it doesn’t bother me, but I don’t like that gasoline or ‘tire’ scent. I don’t know what note gives it that touch I don’t enjoy. I’ll wait a few months for it to improve 😩

  • I definitely love it! It’s ridiculously versatile, perfect for any occasion and age. I just wish its projection was stronger because that cherry, vanilla, and cocoa sweetness is addictive; I’d love to be inside a bubble of this aroma. Note: I’m not usually a fan of sweet perfumes, but this one has won my heart. Nothing more to add!

  • The ‘alcoholic’ opening is 100% real; if it lasts only a few seconds and is intense, I wouldn’t recommend it for hot weather because it’s incredibly sweet. In the cold, the chocolate really shines after an hour. I think the cherry note feels a bit weak—it’s more of a general sweetness than a fruity one. Definitely not a blind buy since it’s a particular scent.

  • Very delicious and super elegant! It’s tart cherry with chocolate. I loved it in winter and I’ll get every drop out of it ❤️

  • Irene1975

It’s like a chocolate truffle stuffed with cherries 🍒🍫—so delicious, but I wish it lasted longer and had more of a trail.
