  Honestly, this Histoires perfume left me a bit cold. It’s floral with a fruity-spicy twist; I think the red berries give it that spice that blends with bergamot. There’s also saffron and black pepper, and in the drydown something sweet—vanilla and a very light touch of chocolate. Maybe the suede shows up in the base, but I barely notice it, and I can’t detect the incense at all. However, my wife says it smells like straight incense to her. It’s fascinating how every nose perceives things differently. It has several notes and is quite well-made, with quality, elegance, and good longevity, but I don’t know how to explain it; it seemed understated or not very special, especially considering the price, which, while not the most expensive in niche perfumery, still feels high to me. The website lists it as unisex and I see it works well for men, but it leans more feminine. I’d define it as floral, fresh-spicy, and slightly powdery, though not much so. The longevity is good (more than 5-6 hours) and the sillage is moderate to low. Personally, I’d give it a thumbs down.
