Amouage Lineage is a spicy oriental fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2023, this composition is signed by perfumer Karine Vinchon Spehner. Upon opening, the fragrance unfolds an aromatic explosion of Sichuan pepper, ginger, Peruvian pepper, and saffron. The heart reveals spiritual depth with frankincense, myrrh, and fennel. The base settles on a warm, resinous foundation of frankincense, myrrh, labdanum, benzoin, vetiver, and patchouli.

I liked it more than Guidance, which surprises me since I expected its notes to win me over. Lineage initially interested me much more: spicy with a delicious, sweet ginger that reminds me of mixing Bleu Turquoise and Sable Nuit by Armani Privé. Bleu has a saltier vibe and is creamier. I’ll revisit Lineage calmly later, but for now, it made a good impression.
I bought it blind. Upon testing it, the sensation was like walking into a Catholic church during Holy Week. Then a salty note arrives, very similar to Womanity. I’ll keep exploring Lineage. It didn’t love me at first glance, but I like it. It’s a fragrance to enjoy in solitude.
It caught me off guard. I find it original and full of character: spicy from the ginger and pepper. I don’t detect the saffron, or it’s so well-integrated it doesn’t stand out. Amouage always blends the notes perfectly 👌🏼. Then it softens with incense and myrrh, almost creamy. It won’t leave you indifferent. I had low expectations because of Guidance, but I absolutely loved Lineage.
Love Mimosa by Amouage has completely thrown me off. I was looking for more incense and myrrh, but this smells like mineral water and freshness. If there is any myrrh, it’s so diluted I barely notice it. Since I’m a fan and already own Mimosa, I can’t see myself buying another bottle that’s 90% similar. It’s good, but not what I expected.
