If you are lovers of magnolia, I think this perfume—floral, vibrant, slightly watery and fresh over a light woody base—could be your absolute favorite. It’s a simple, linear scent that aims for nothing else, because sometimes less is more. The performance is similar to others in the line, quite good for the accord. Don’t misunderstand me when I say it’s “fresh”; it has plenty of body and presence. Personally, I wouldn’t buy it, but it seems pleasant and could appeal to many.
Spectacular if you like magnolia; I recommend it 100%. It has brutal longevity for an EDT, a heavy trail that softens after two hours but is still very noticeable. Watch out, don’t apply too much, or it won’t last all day.
A relative brought it back for me from a trip, chosen after reading good reviews here and on YouTube. I was really hoping I’d like it; I was looking for a watery floral for the summer heat in Buenos Aires. What a horrible disappointment. On me, it smells like rotten magnolia, like a vase of fresh flowers left closed for 15 days with stagnant water. The note is bitter and sour, green but in a bad way, like a sharp moss, poorly harmonious and rotting organic matter. My mom didn’t mind it as much, but it’s not a beauty either. My advice: test it on your skin before buying to avoid a total fiasco.
Maybe I’m wrong, but to my nose, it smells just like Mugler’s Alien at first. Both are very linear, though Alien feels more wearable. It gives me the impression that this one is more suited for an older lady.
It’s the first perfume I bought after smelling it on someone else. A coworker wears it; she’s twice my age but has an incredible personality. I always thought it smelled exquisite until I asked what she was wearing, and she said “the last one from Issey Miyake,” so I ran to buy it. It doesn’t feel like the “older lady” scent people talk about; yes, it’s mature, but very rebellious, fresh, and original. I wear it at night despite its citrus and floral notes. It’s truly a jewel with a lot of presence. I’m fascinated by it ✨
What an exquisite perfume, fresh yet with great personality. It has something of the original L’eau d’Issey but with a much more modern aroma thanks to that citrus note, which combines excellently. It has fabulous longevity; as hours pass, it becomes more delicate on the skin but you still feel it a lot. It’s a jewel for its longevity and projection. A unique, original fragrance, totally different from what’s currently on the market.

I like it; it’s a pleasant scent, not offensive or heavy. You can feel the flowers; it’s a different perfume but not complex; it feels great from the start. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 6/10. Should I recommend it? Absolutely, but buy it online since it’s much cheaper. I buy mine at Jomashop, and in my country they cost triple.
Today I received my first compliment for this perfume, from a woman (which is no small thing). At first, it didn’t convince me; I received it as a gift with little faith in it, feeling it very soft and with little sillage, unlike the original from the collection. On my skin, it suits me better in winter than in summer, although it can be used all year; personally, it lasts longer in winter. Curiously, in summer the magnolia is very present, while in winter the wood prevails. On my skin, it lasts 10/12 hours and the sillage is strong and very noticeable. Interesting performance.
It surprised me; it’s very pretty and subtle. I clearly perceive the magnolia, soothed by aquatic notes that give it freshness. I see it as appropriate for spring; it’s not one of my favorites, but I’d gladly use up the sample. At some point, it reminds me of a Hugo in a canteen I used, and Tommy Girl dry down, similar scents. Edit: I tested it in summer and oh, change! Now it’s much more floral; I no longer recall Hugo or Tommy, and I like it more. It remains subtle, almost like a soft, fresh scented cream. Maybe I’ll buy it. Later, someone gifted me a bottle, and although it’s pretty and soft, there’s a part that doesn’t convince me to repurchase: I notice an alcohol that bothers me more and more, like a classic baby fragrance.
I love it. I bought it blind based on the notes and profile. I wore it today and it suits me perfectly. I feel it fresh, luminous, citrusy, and watery. It’s a pretty fragrance, for daily wear and any season. It’s not invasive, but it makes itself felt with an ethereal touch that lingers delicately. On my skin, it behaves like this. It’s an easy-to-wear aroma, elegant, and unobtrusive. It’s not made to stand out, but to accompany and be a caress. I adore fresh fragrances with a powdery touch, so I know I’ll buy it again as long as I can find it.
I love it. I bought it blind based on the notes and olfactive profile. I wore it today and it suits me perfectly. I feel it’s fresh, luminous, citrusy, and watery. It’s a pretty fragrance, for daily wear, for any season. It’s not invasive, but it makes itself felt with an ethereal touch that finally lingers delicately on the skin. At least that’s how it behaves on me. It’s a very easy-to-wear scent, elegant, unobtrusive. Naturally, it’s not designed to stand out, but to accompany and be a caress. I adore fresh fragrances with a powdery touch, so honestly, I know I’ll buy it again as long as I can find it.
It smells like fresh flowers; it reminds me a lot of those ‘chinitas’, but beyond that, I feel it’s the perfect perfume for a bride or bridesmaid. It doesn’t last long on my skin; you have to reapply. Given the price, I see it as a bit expensive because it will last only 2 or 3 hours if you force it. But blind, it’s safe if you like flowers, aquatic, and fresh scents.
If I had to define it with one word, it would be ‘Elegance’. It’s a gorgeous perfume, very floral with an aquatic touch that gives it that ethereal character typical of Japanese fragrances. It has excellent longevity and sillage, which is paramount for me. It’s versatile yet special and distinctive. I think it would make a great signature scent.
I tested it at 20 degrees with a coworker. It’s a simple, daytime summer perfume, pleasant. Perhaps it has more eau de cologne behavior, which would make the price less convenient. It works well for any age and requires nothing more than personal experience.
If I had to define it with one word, it would be “Elegance.” It’s a very beautiful perfume, very floral with a watery touch that gives it that ethereal character of Japanese fragrances. I tried it in-store, and upon application, you can immediately feel that oily consistency that screams quality. The opening is fresh, floral, and soft, like the transparency of a petal. I detect faint aquatic nuances that recall the DNA of the original, but here there’s no loud flower; it’s a reserved and harmonious version. Luminous yet calming, the dry down connects with the bergamot of the aldehyde orange, approaching a very refined baby cologne, though ultimately it is a cologne. I find it adorable, tender, elegant, and classy, yet relaxed and ethereal. For the price, I prefer the Natura EDT Esta Flor de Laranjeira, which resembles it greatly, though they aren’t identical. If you smelled both, you’d see Natura is more citrusy and aldehydic, while L’eau d’Issey is aquatic floral (which I love). Either way, a beautiful olfactory experience; Issey Miyake always satisfies me.
I tried it today at a perfumery. I applied it to my skin. At first, you can tell the oily consistency that suggests it’s a good perfume. That phase lasted several minutes. The dry-down is fresh, floral, and soft. It’s like smelling the transparency of a flower petal. I sense very faint watery nuances that remind me of the original’s DNA. However, Eau & Magnolia doesn’t have that loud, shrill floral part; on the contrary, it’s its reserved and harmonious version. It’s luminous but calming. In the dry-down, it connects more with something like the orange blossom from the Neroli Attar, which brings us closer to a very refined baby cologne, but it is a cologne after all. I think it’s an adorable and tender fragrance. Elegant and classy, but with a relaxed and ethereal tint. Given its value, I prefer to use the EDT from Natura Esta Flor de Laranjeira, which resembles it quite a bit, though they wouldn’t say they’re identical. If I smelled both at the same time, I could recognize that the Natura one is more citrusy and neroli-like, whereas L’eau d’Issey Magnolia is a watery floral (which I love). Anyway, it seemed like a beautiful olfactory experience. Issey Miyake always brings me great satisfaction with their fragrances.
