Descripción
Icon Racing by Alfred Dunhill, launched in 2017, is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. The nose behind this composition is Laurent Le Guernec. The top notes unfold with grapefruit, cardamom, and bergamot; the heart reveals orange blossom, lavender, and pepper; while the base notes settle on musk, guaiac wood, and vetiver.

Grapefruit, pepper, and vetiver basically. Reminds me a lot of Invictus, but I liked this one more.
I agree it resembles Invictus, but its quality is far superior and so is its longevity, since Invictus’s quality is terrible. I own all four fragrances from the Icon family and I have to say they are very well crafted and their presentation is excellent.
Spectacular fragrance!
Too much ‘hype’ for such a weak fragrance. Let’s say it’s a copy of a copy, of a copy… of everything flooding the market. Low longevity and projection… what projection? The first Icon is good, but frankly, it happens to me the same as with Midnight in Paris: nothing new that hasn’t been done before with better results. RSLG (recommended if you like): Invictus, Wanted, Stronger with You, etc. 65/100.
You guys are making Invictus copies like hot dogs! I’m an Invictus user and today I got a sample of this Dunhill Spring Icon and I loved it, plus the design is super original. 10/10.
Dunhill’s incredible hit, just bought it and it’s extraordinary. The citrus opening with bergamot gives a clean sensation, then the heart of pepper and lavender adds strength, and it closes excellently with woods and vetiver, super long-lasting. It’s true it reminds me a bit of Invictus, but in my opinion, it’s much better, feels more refined, and needless to say, the longevity is simply outstanding.
What a hit by Dunhill! I bought it recently and it’s extraordinary. The citrus opening with bergamot gives a sense of cleanliness, then the heart of pepper and lavender adds strength, finishing with an excellent and super long-lasting base of woody notes and vetiver. It’s true it smells a bit like Invictus, but in my opinion, it’s much better, feels more refined, and let’s not talk about the sillage, it’s simply spectacular.
What a curious scent! It makes me feel like I’m in a garden full of flowers of all colors, like those movies with huge gardens. The floral is thick but blends perfectly with the freshness of the grapefruit and bergamot. It feels elegant, seductive, and very good. The longevity is pleasant, about 10 hours without issues. Every time I smell it, I feel like I’m carrying a big bouquet for my wife, so I am the bouquet. A very peculiar aroma, only if it’s a bit pricey.
What a gorgeous fragrance! I don’t get why people compare it to Invictus. That orange blossom is crafted masterfully; it’s a note I usually don’t like, but here I’ve rediscovered it. The pepper and bergamot remind me a bit of YSL L’Homme, but combined with the rest, it turns out much better. It lasts over 8 hours on my skin and projects moderately for the first three. I’ve tested it several times and I’m sure I’ll buy it as soon as I can.
You can tell this isn’t a mass-market fragrance; almost no one knows it here. Comparing it to Invictus Infamy is absurd: Paco Rabanne smells artificial and mediocre, while Icon Racing is well-made with quality ingredients, especially that orange blossom note, which is the best I’ve ever tried in a men’s perfume. There’s no comparison whatsoever.
It’s rare for this fragrance to be this unknown, but anyone claiming it smells like Invictus Infamy is way off. Let’s be real: Paco Rabanne’s version is artificial and generic, while Icon Racing is better crafted with quality ingredients, especially that orange blossom note, which is the best I’ve ever smelled in a men’s perfume. There’s no coherent comparison between the two.
This is the first review for the Alfred Dunhill house, and it’s Dunhill Icon Racing. The truth is, I didn’t like it at all. Its opening is very moderate; you can smell the citrus, and as it dries down, a very faint lavender with a pinch of pepper is noticeable. I can’t comment on the base notes because its sillage and longevity are scarce; at best three hours, even though I’m generous, before it disappears right against the skin. I strongly disagree with previous reviewers and with a Spanish YouTuber who praised this fragrance, but to my nose, it’s very linear, trendy, and quite basic. It has no versatility, and its longevity is scarce. I have it to complete the Icon line from the Dunhill house, since I own the three fragrances: Icon, Icon Elite, and Absolute. The acquisition in my country, Argentina, was in a non-affordable set containing a 30 ml bottle, accompanied by a body shower and an after-shave I haven’t tried yet. In short, a fragrance that adds nothing and only serves, I repeat, if you want to complete the Dunhill Icon collection.
Icon Racing is fresh, aromatic, and musky. It starts a bit sweet, like bubblegum, which is why people compare it to Invictus, but it quickly evolves into something more floral and fresh, less formal, thanks to its musk. It’s versatile for almost any season, with woody and fresh notes. It’s not as mature as the original, nor overly youthful; it’s perfect for someone with their first job. It lasted an entire workday, and while it doesn’t project much, the scent drifts by at times. I recommend it if you’re looking for an Invictus alternative, but test it yourself.
Icon Racing is a fresh, aromatic, and musky fragrance. Its opening shows a slightly sweet aroma like bubblegum, hence the comparison to Invictus, but it quickly evolves into a more floral and aromatic phase that brings back memories of its mother, but in a fresher, less formal style, probably due to the good dose of musk. It’s versatile, usable almost any season, featuring woods, fresh, and floral notes. Although I notice it’s less mature than the original Icon, it doesn’t seem too youthful either; it’s good for someone who already has their first formal job. Longevity wasn’t bad; it lasted at least an 8-hour workday. Although it doesn’t project too much, at times you get a whiff of its aroma. I recommend it for those looking for an alternative to Invictus and who like that style; otherwise, try it and make your own evaluation.
It’s a perfume that, although very old, is delicious; I can’t stop smelling myself when I wear it. Highly recommended; you won’t regret buying it.
I don’t know this perfume, but how is it possible that it reminds me of Invictus and Bentley Intense? It’s impossible to guide yourself like that.
I’ll be super honest: the only reason I bought it was because of the photo of the beautiful Sophie in Jeremy Fragrance videos, and many were surprised when he gave it a 10/10. But once I put it on my skin, I thought, ‘this smells like any cheap cologne from any drugstore.’ When it dries down, it becomes softer, and I must admit the scent is super masculine, but I repeat, it smells like many other colognes without any distinct notes. Still, I don’t get why women like such simple aromas, but okay, I give it a 6.8/10.
Good afternoon, it just arrived today and honestly, I feel like I wasted my money. It smells okay, sure, but it projects nothing and doesn’t last more than two hours. I don’t know if it’s my skin, but I’m hugely disappointed. I expected better performance, even though I applied it liberally at first since I was being careful. Seeing that it wasn’t strong, I applied more, but it was a total letdown. It’s frustrating when this happens with certain perfumes; they seem to fall off or evaporate from the skin. A shame.
I’ve had this for years and recently rediscovered it. It’s a pleasant perfume; you can definitely smell the citrus notes, making it ideal for summer and spring. My critique lies in the sillage and longevity; I expected more. It doesn’t last long, and there are better options on the market that deliver on their promises. 6/10.
A fresh, pleasant aromatic fougere. The citrus opening is moderate; what really stands out is the lavender and musk, with a slight spicy sweetness. The woods are aromatic and pleasant. I wear it to the office and it’s already caught attention. Recommended if you want a more modern, long-lasting commercial fougere.
It’s a fresh, pleasant aromatic fougere. The citrus opening is moderate; what stands out most is the lavender and musk with a soft spicy touch. The woods are aromatic and agreeable. I wear it to the office and it has drawn attention. Recommended if you’re looking for a modernized commercial fougere that actually lasts.
Just received it, and the first impression is direct: it smells like aspirin. Let’s see how it evolves.
I fell for the influencer hype. The last time I looked for it in Chile, finding it was a total nightmare. I bought it again six months ago with sky-high expectations. The result? It smells like no-man’s-land, a hybrid between Legend Spirit and Versace Eros, all wrapped in something that smells like plastic. Plus, the longevity is ridiculous; even with a generous application, it barely lasts four sprays.
