I’m a lover of citrus and refreshing fragrances, and for me, the crucial thing is that the scent feels as natural as possible, without feeling forced. With this Zegna, just like with its ‘tangerine’ sibling, I had 125ml bottles. The truth is, both were an absolute rip-off, a disaster. It’s like taking tap water and adding a tiny bit of perfume. In terms of scent, it’s the typical citrus fragrance with bergamot and little else. I can’t smell vetiver, rosemary, or anything else; I barely smell the bergamot… Natural? Maybe, perhaps it’s the best in the world, but I can’t be sure because it smells like nothing. You have to apply a lot of it to get any clarity, and man, 125ml costs around $300… honestly, I thought ‘Bergamote 22’ by Le Labo was much better. Even though it’s an expensive perfume, it ends up being cheaper than this. Well, it felt like another joke from that ‘supposed’ luxury and pseudo-brand market: they sell us plastics made for $2 for $50, then release better items in their luxury collections, but with quality far from excellent at an outrageous price. There are things at one-third the price (or less) that are much better in every way. I’m sorry to say it this way, but I can’t think of a softer way to express it: it was a disaster.
I’m a fan of citrus and refreshing fragrances, and in this category, I care that the scent feels as natural as possible so it doesn’t sound forced. With this Zegna, just like with its ‘tangerine’ sibling, I owned 125ml bottles. The reality is, to be honest, both were an absolute rip-off. A disaster. It’s like grabbing a glass of tap water and lightly perfuming it. As for the scent? We’re looking at the typical citrus fragrance with bergamot and little else. I can’t smell vetiver, rosemary, or anything else. Wow, the bergamot is barely there… Natural? Maybe. It could be the best bergamot in the world, but I can’t be sure because it smells like nothing. You have to overapply it quite a bit to get any clarity, and man, the fragrance costs around $300 for 125ml… and honestly, it seemed much better to me than ‘Bergamote 22’ by Le Labo. Even though it’s a very expensive perfume, it ends up being significantly cheaper than this. It was a disaster.
Italian Bergamot is a rich and fresh citrus-floral fragrance. Upon application, you get citrus notes blended with neroli, giving it a slightly soapy touch. The first 30 minutes have decent projection, but then it fades quickly to skin scent. The rosemary and vetiver are barely noticeable; basically, it’s just bergamot and neroli. It’s ideal for daytime or the office, but in relaxed environments or around strong scents, it gets lost, as happened to me: other aromas overpowered it, and I thought it had vanished until I got home and could still smell it faintly on my skin. The bottle I tested has different packaging than the photo and is 100ml. It’s a good citrus fragrance that, if you can find it outside official pricing, might be worth it.
Italian Bergamot is a citrus-floral fragrance that smells very rich and very fresh. At first, you get a delicious citrus note mixed with floral neroli, giving it a slightly soapy vibe. The first thirty minutes have good projection, but then the intensity drops until it becomes a skin scent. The rosemary and vetiver are barely noticeable; overall, everything revolves around bergamot and neroli. It’s perfect for daytime or the office, but in relaxed settings or around strong scents, it tends to get lost. I experienced this too: other aromas overpowered it, and I thought it had disappeared until I got home and could clearly smell it, albeit faintly. The version I tested features different packaging than the photo and is 100ml. It’s a good citrus fragrance that, if you can find it outside official prices, might be worth it.
