  What a piece of Amouage! Attars, those perfumed oils deeply tied to Eastern culture, are now an obligatory ritual before visiting a temple or attending a major wedding. Many layer them to create something more complex on the skin. This one features the Hojari incense, a treasure for Amouage and part of its DNA. In Incense Rori, that precious resin translates into a polished, realistic, and exuberant scent. It radiates a smoky brilliance with amber notes and a perfect spicy kick. It’s enveloped in an impeccable aura of oakmoss, giving it earthiness and darkness. The woods, especially cedar, take on more importance once the fragrance settles on the skin. Attars are usually aromatically rich and concentrated, lasting a long time but sometimes projecting little; here, it projects quite well. I know I can’t imagine spending over $500 for 12 ml, but it’s worth trying. It has so many nuances, constantly changing; the notes pulse and move as if alive. It softens like silk over time. As an incense fanatic, it’s a beauty, and I encourage those who love it as much as I do to give it a try.
