A mix of super-sweet vanillas with anise that literally swallows up the jasmine or any other notes mixed in. With almost ten years sealed in its bottle (I used it very little), it seems to have thickened and concentrated its sweetness. A warm, dark fruity syrup resembles edible vanilla. Out of all the Hypnotics, Sensuelle was the richest for me. This fragrance doesn’t feel hypnotic to me, more like a dessert.
Today I felt like wearing it all day and it didn’t disappoint. It’s wonderful, very creamy with a sweet vanilla note. On my skin, the anise and licorice are barely noticeable, but they add a much softer sweetness than in the original HP, which comes out more bitter for me. As it dries down, I get jasmine, vanillin, and a smoky touch. It’s super sensual, very soft, and not heavy at all; I just spray one on each side of my neck and one on my cleavage. I recommend it to all lovers of oriental scents—it’s a masterpiece for me. It’s discontinued, just like the Elixir of Pure Poison, what a shame. I hope Dior has a heart and brings it back.
